Would make a thoughtful stocking stuffer
These are extremely handy once you get older and your grip isn't as good as it used to be. Happens to everyone. I use it exactly as shown in the pictures on the listing and it works great. Do your older family members a favor and get them one or two to make their life, and getting things on their own, easier. Increases accessibility for people with physical issues or just plain aging.

A gripping success.
I use this to close plastic freezer bags the frozen food arrives in. Works great. Unexpected, the handle is very useful for this application. Was a little surprised when the clip separated into two parts but it was designed that way and extremely easy to reconnect.

No More Stale Tortilla Chips
Discounted or free productis it good or bad?I'll make the provider/authoreither happy or sad..........and sometimes even mad. When I handed this clip to my wife, she said "what is this?" Then she opened it up and it fell apart. I slipped the pieces back together, explained the concept to her, and then demonstrated it on a 16 oz. bag of Garden of Eatin' Blue Chips. "No more stale and soggy tortilla chips " said I.In Southwest Florida we have high heat and humidity all year long. Even with efficient air conditioning things tend to dry out faster and become less tasty over small time periods. The other problem is that Florida is a haven for bugs such as fruit flies, tiny spiders, ghost ants, cockroaches, and the like. They get into everything that isn't sealed tightly and can be found in dry noodles, cereal, flour, and other foodstuffs. Often these foods come from the grocery store with the little buggers hitching a ride into your home. There's nothing pleasant about grabbing some spaghetti noodles for dinner and having little bugs fall out in the pot of boiling water. Of course you could cook them up and then pretend that they are just flecks of pepper. Just kidding! So this bag clip comes in handy for preserving foods of all types. Once fastened on a bag it is very difficult to pull the bag out without unfastening the clip. I can see how the bigger clips can be used for storing dog food, fertilizers, and other outdoor products. Interesting concept that appears well-designed but made of a brittle plastic. I'm curious to see how long it will last.

Innovative, but check the sizes of the bags you want to seal first
First off, I give kudos to anyone who tries to improve on something (like a chip-clip) that's been a pervasive product for decades. That sort of innovation should be applauded. Here's my take on how they've done with this Mini Bag Clip:Pros:-- Clearly seals better than the standard chip clip. It pinches together more of the bag and so keeps more of the elements out.-- The large handle is a plus for carrying heavier items.Cons:-- Takes a lot more time than a chip clip. You have to manhandle the top of the bag for a few seconds to get it folded up so it will close nicely-- This mini clip fits fewer bags than I expected. Since you're trying to get the entire top of the bag pinched together, for best results you need bags that are narrower than the clip. No big deal? Well, I was surprised that the first two bags I tried to make fit were too wide, and one of them was a fairly standard size bag for a snack. Any bag wider than 8 1/2 inches is going to require you to fold the corners in.So, nice clip, but won't work for many of the bags you have in the pantry.Hope that helps!

"Mini-" is Relative!
This clip is not really "mini", at 10" wide with about a 9" throat. It's way too big for a regular bag of chips, more appropriate for a bag of cat food or dog food or the giant size chips, perhaps. That said, it works well for larger bags. I tried it on an 18 pound bag of cat food, mounted on an angle to use it as a pour handle, and it held securely. Properly clipped, it is quite effective at sealing a bag. The joint sometimes slips apart a bit when fully open, and won't close until the joint is slipped back together. The plastic seems robust enough to do it's job for a long time.
