It's a deck plate
This is the four-inch deck plate that goes with the American Standard 6058.105.002 Ceratronic Faucet. It probably works fits other American Standard faucets, but you'll have to check the web site for that. It's well constructed and looks nice. It comes with two white plastic nuts to secure it from underneath. It also comes with a "putty plate" which is a rubber gasket with a putty channel used to seal the plate to the sink. Since this deck plate is an accessory to an American Standard faucet, it doesn't come with any instructions. The instructions are in the faucet. Don't forget to use the gasket when attaching the faucet, and plumbers putty (or waterproof caulk) when securing the plate to the sink. With free shipping via Amazon Prime, this is the cheapest price I've found online. Curiously, Amazon does not appear to sell the eight-inch plate.

American Standard 4-Inch Deck Plate
These fits easily for the American Standard metering or delayed faucets. They look nice too.Make sure that the faucet you are replacing is a CENTERED faucet sink model. If it is not centered in the sink and the faucet is off centered to the left or right, the deck plate might not be flush with the sink. These do look very nice and easy to install with the American Standard metering faucets.

Beautiful and easy to clean, but has design flaws
This is beautiful, small, and easy to clean. For the price though, I expected it to fit the faucet perfectly. Instead I had to fumble around with the screws, push and pull at the faucet to get it to be centered. It's still not perfectly in the center, it's ridiculous. That designer really messed up his calculations..
