Slick design, solid and steady, bright white lighting, and decent 4-3/4" lens.... recommended.
SO much better than the cheap $20.00 version I had with the gooseneck that falls over so easily. Very bright white, as either a desk lamp or used with the magnifying lens. The base is perfectly weighted, and the head swivels any direction, so just perfect for my hobby needs. I did think the focal length would be a little longer, but seems like it's around 5" - 6", which is just fine for me also. The 2.25X lens gives even magnification and has no distorted or uneven areas (actually 4-3/4" diameter). Pretty much everything I wanted in a hobby magnifier. Simpler and easier than the clamp-on style too. Glad I picked this one after several long hours of searching and reading reviews. For its' nice design, good build quality, ease of use, and fair price, I'd highly recommend.. :-) . PS: I still don't understand why the Verilux version is $60.00 more. I see nothing to make it worthy of that kind of cost difference... do you?

Perfect
Wow, what a great table lamp for reading. These LEDs are the perfect color for high contrast. The magnifying lens is about as powerful as you are going to find, really easy to use and extremely clear. The body is made from extremely durable, easy to clean plastic that should retain it's high finish for decades. This one lamp has replaced two other lighting sources because it throws such good light over such a large area.

Lamp failed after a few hours
This product is beautifully designed and easy to use. It works for its intended purpose. I have used it to reconstruct broken ceramic bowls and for other repairs that are on a small scale. BUT, after 11 months of ownership, having used it perhaps half a dozen times for maybe 10 hours total, the lamp stopped working. This lamp has not been abused. I keep it in its original box. I use it six feet from where it is stored in a closet. I conclude that there is something wrong with the mfr's quality control. So I give it five stars for function, one star for the company's quality control, average = three stars.

Nice light. However
Nice light. However, one of the segments is now flickering. Frustrating junk. Seller claims you can not replace the light.I'm sick and tired of expensive disposable products.Oh yeah, they will tell you 50,000 hours of life. BS. More like 69 hours of life. That's only $1.00 per hour.I would love to fly to China, and throw this piece of junk through the manufacturers window.

Decent, but a few flaws
Bright, no flicker. The glass lens is large and of good quality, and it does a nice job of magnifying-- many competitive products have rather small lenses and you can't look through with both eyes at once. The LEDs are arranged around the periphery of the lens and shine through a diffuser, so your work is illuminated evenly and without a lot of shadows. The illumination is a nice bright white. The base is weighted and has some receptacles for tools. (It also sports a badly misaligned manufacturer's logo: "Bourya".) My main gripe is that the arm is only a couple inches longer than the base. In the photos here, the base looks much more circular. Perhaps this change was made to give the base additional stability. But it reduces the size your workpiece can be and still fit under the lens. If you're working on small items, say less than 4 inches deep, that's not a problem. I'd also prefer a gooseneck to the double-hinge design-- at least the hinge for the head is a spherical knuckle so you have some angular flexibility. All in all it's decent, especially for the price, but it could be better.

BEST MAGNIFYING LIGHT FOR CRAFTING
This is my second light like this. The first one I bought from another vendor four years ago. The light burned out and I panicked. Thank god I found it on Amaon the same day after I couldn't find a replacement bulb for the burned out one. I am a bead weaver and can't live without this light. The glass is clear and the body of the lamp is very substantial. It won't tip and it is easy to swivel the light to just where I want it. I love this light!!!!!

Bright, sturdy, attractive
Well made, heavy, sturdy light with easy adjustability and bright lights. First one received had lights that flashed once but would not stay lit. Returned it, got immediate refund and after a bit ordered another, which is working fine. Would recommend for someone with poor vision or for detailed work.
