The Thread adapter works just as it should. It fits the chuck to my lathe with no problem. It was easy to determine which adapter to order by just measuring the diameter of the spindle on my old lathe and then measure the number of threads per inch. These are large threads and easy to see. I recommend this adapter.

Perfect solution
I have an older (1998) Woodfast lathe that has a 1x8 L on the outboard spindle and a 1 1/4 x 6 R on the inboard. I could handle the 1x8 conversion, but it was the L to R that had me stopped, until this little gem came along. Perfect.

Works great on a Nova 3 chuck; perfect fit and nice RH/LH option for using outside spindle to turn and sand objects in opposite direction.

My life is now complete now that I've reviewed an innocuous product on Amazon!!!!
I purchased this to be able to use both sides of my 1947 Delta lathe -- New to outboard turning, so I needed the flexibility. My only complaint is you have to be careful threading on either side of the headstock, but since you should do that anyway -- once the threads find and make purchase it works fine.

Works great either Right hand threads or Left hand thread with same adaptor.
Amazing but it actually works both right and left hand threads. Most reviews and information I have seen on this adaptor are not clear on this. I can use it with my chuck on the inboard side of the drive shaft which has right hand threads, or I can use it on the outboard side of my drive shaft which is left hand threads. The adaptor works equally well either way.
