Tiffen 77BPM14 77mm Black Pro-Mist 1/4 Diffusion Camera Filter

I’m sure most people got perfect filters but I had a small scratch in the middle, although it doesn’t show up in the image at all.

Great way of desharpening the image so things don't look so digital. Blooms the highlights nicely, and gives the appearance a lovely cinematic look.A good tip for those budgeting - if you use multiple lenses, get the size that fits your largest lens and then use step-up rings to attach to your smaller lenses.

The pro-mist filter itself is great and I love what it does to the image but the one I received from Amazon was clearly used. The case had marks and scratches all over it and the filter covered in fingerprints and dust. Amazon sent out a replacement but it was the same thing. I ended up just giving it a clean and keeping it but just be aware that the one you receive may be used.

Having bought directly from Amazon and not from an Amazon seller I was expecting much better. The filter box was not sealed and the glass had dirt, smudges and scratches on the surface. Obviously pre-owned or very poor quality controlI wish I paid more attention to the other reviews that mentioned similar issues.I decided to hold onto the filer instead of returning it as it's a nightmare to do that through Amazon. Once I gave it a thorough cleaning, it looked relatively ok, aside from the faint scratches (fortunately these were towards the edge).I ordered the 1/4 version and so far am pleased with the results on my A7iii/ Tamron 28-75 combo. Very nice blooming to the highlights during the day and at night the effect is slightly less subtle.If you are looking to buy this filter, I would advise looking elsewhere for your purchase.

Not sure how this seller gets away with selling used stock. Especially after similar reviews. I read them and figured they were unlucky - don’t be fooled, these are used filters!Check out the photos.The filter itself was still in great condition, it was clean, but you could see dust trapped around the edges like you’d expect over time, and the box was scuffed and scratched all over. It came with the seal intact, so clearly they are just re-sealing used filters. Probably bought off eBay or something.NOT what you’d expect for paying £100+ for a lens filter.

Just received it yesterday and instantly noticed that it wasn't in any way secured, no tape or anything for transport. The case was all stratched up and once I opened the case I found that the actual filter seemed used. No scratches on it or anything but the glass has marks on it like grease from fingers touching it. It all seemed to come off with the whipe of a micro fibre cloth so I think it's okay.Still works and does what it says on the tin but would not recommend buying it off Amazon. I paid full price for a product that was essentially used.After I contacted Amazon they gave me a 15% discount which I think should have been more but I'll leave it at that. At least after getting some of my money back I didn't feel like I paid full price for a used product. If it wasn't for that discount I would be giving this a 1 star review not 3.
