Let's be honest...I live in the country in rural New Brunswick. I am not overly concerned about security. However I hate looking for my keys in the ark in the boonies. This latch is super great, easy to use. It lights up when you press the buttons! Yes, there is a small delay while it unlocks itself but it's all of 3 seconds....not like you are going to smash into your house with a bag of groceries. It's an awesome little lock for the price. It's a deadbolt plain and simple! You won't be disappointed

The traditional front door deadbolt got left unlocked often because anyone leaving through the front door usually didn't have keys in hand to lock it, and with people still in the house it wasn't a big deal. The door would get locked when someone walked by. Well, a few days ago, a young kid in the neighborhood walked right into the house. He was confused and walked into the wrong house. I immediately started looking at smart door locks that 1) were compatible with Ring, and 2) had a auto-lock feature. This lock met both requirements and it was the most reasonably priced as well.Yes, the Z-Wave+ is an older protocol, and when setting up with Ring, it came up as a message. But even the newer, more expensive smart locks (from Kwikset and others) use Z-Wave+ as well, and they cost double the price or more. It connected to Ring through device set up in about a minute (maybe less). Enabling and configuring the auto-lock was a snap, and setting the user codes was very easy as well. The rekeying with SmartKey was also simple. This wasn't a feature I was looking for, but it allowed me to use the key I already have and now that key works on both my garage door and front door with this lock, so only one key is needed on my keychain.While installation was easy, I did need to take it apart and install it again since my initial install didn't allow for the deadbolt to operate smoothly. It seemed fine with the key, but the motor could move the deadbolt and lock the door, there was still a "lock jammed" error. It only took a about 10 minutes to redo the installation, and it worked perfectly after that. One tip I will give on installation, is that the mounting bracket for the interior component (where the batteries go and the manual lever to lock/unlock) is attached and needs to be removed from the interior component. I was looking for a separate piece but it just needed to be slid off the interior component. Maybe I didn't read the directions well enough. :)I recommend this lock to anyone looking to add a smart lock to their Ring system. Easy installation, setup, and great price.
