Sleepover Sleuths 1: Nancy Drew and the Clue Crew
I used to love the Nancy Drew mystery novels when I was young, so I was pleased to find this series, aimed at younger readers, for my daughter to read. This is the first novel in a series of at least 16 (there may be more by now) and all dealing with things little girls of 6-10 will understand and relate to: ballet class, pony lessons, school life, etc. In this first mystery, Nancy and her best friends (and cousins), Bess and George, are invited to a sleepover by Deirdre Shannon. The girls like Deirdre, but she is rather spoilt, so they are surprised when they are invited to her City Girl Dolls sleepover party. They have never been invited to one of Deirdre's parties before and each girl arrives clutching their own City Girl Doll. City Girl Dolls are the 'in' toy and when Deirdre gets "Hollywood Heather" - one of the rarest and most exclusive dolls in the collection, it evokes jealousy among some of the girls. When the doll goes missing, it is up to Nancy to investigate. Overall, this is a fun mystery for little girls who are ready for more challenging chapter books, but will enjoy the familiarity of a series. Most series books aimed at little girls have a fantasty element - fairies, etc, so it is nice to find something a little different. The second book in the series is Scream for Ice Cream (Nancy Drew & the Clue Crew (Quality)) . Scream for Ice Cream (Nancy Drew & the Clue Crew (Quality))

Excellent for young Nancy Drew fans
Excellent books for kids. My daughter is 7 and was hook! I loved Nancy Drew as a child so was so pleased when I found these for my daughter. She has a nice collection already. Can wait to get her started on the classics!
