First impression is very positive!
This is a "premature" review as I received this meter about an hour ago. However, I am very excited with the results and I thought it I just fair to give the device a deserved grade. I did a few of tests, as below and the results seemed to be very consistent. Here they go:1 - I just opened my kitchen sink faucet, filled half a glass of water and inserted the electrodes in it. The reading was 131 PPM. Pretty good for city water, as I have read. I live in Winter Park, FL.2 - Next I left the water running in the same faucet for about 30 seconds and took another reading: 129 PPM. It makes sense as I had not used that sink for at least 5 hours. I would imagine that the water setting still in the pipes could collect, hence the slightly higher reading above. After that I filled up the glass a few more times with the faucet water and several successive readings were always 130 or 131. I think this is pretty good.3 - I always buy my drinking water from a vending machine at a local Publix, provided by a company called Glacier. I have read some mixed reviews of water vending machines and that was the main reason I bought this meter. Therefore, I was very pleased when two successive readings from that water were 0001 PPM! Good job!4 - During the tests with the vending machine water, the TDS showed the temperature as 80 degrees F. I compared it with the reading of a chef thermometer (Comark PDT300) read 81.5 degrees F. A difference of less than 2%. Pretty good too.Additional comments: This was the first instrument of this type I bought and I did know anything about them. I spent a good amount of time browsing the many brands and models at Amazon, reading countless reviews and finally opted for this PATEA. Also, I don't have another meter or a calibration solution, therefore I cannot comment about this TDS accuracy. The meter has a plastic body but does not feel cheap. It also comes with a store/carrying case, which is nice. Included instructions are very simple, but the instrument operation is very simple, as well.Having said that, all the above is based upon that first hour impression. If in the future I notice anything else that warranties an update I will be back to write it.

And the darn thing works great! It sure "seems" accurate
I've been using this for 1 year now, a couple times a month. And the darn thing works great! It sure "seems" accurate, and always gives the same readings on my tap water. I use it for other solutions too. I'm pleasantly surprised that it works so well for such a low cost.

This is my second water tester from patea. It seems to work since my tap water has a higher ppm than my reverse osmosis filtered water. Hope the battery lasts.

Easy to use, Nice meter
Works great super easy, pretty accurate, however wish it came with better documentation. I still don't know if you can calibrate it, however it is always withn 40 or 50 PPM in the test solution I bought.

Three Stars
Just got it today and have tested it twice....not sure about the accuracy.

My mama's TDS tester.
The tester works, but appears to be a full decade older. I feel like I ordered an iPad and received an Apple 1. I'm not a happy camper at all.
