So, I'm sure you're wondering what the heck is a Mortar Max and why is this board relatively unheard of in the U.S. At the same time, look at ALL those reviews from across the pond. Why is it like this? Well, you got me! Even I don't know why they're rarely being sold in the States (and usually at a premium).However, I'm sure you've heard of the ever popular Tomahawk Max. So if I could best describe this board, the Mortar Max is the mATX little brother of the ATX that is the Tomahawk Max, but better. Yes, you heard me right, it's better than its bigger brother! Why is this the case? It has two more USB ports in the back, has a DisplayPort in the back if you're rocking an APU, and it has a second M.2 slot (not as fast as the turbo slot, but it's seriously a second M.2, which is amazing (will disable the second PCI-E x16 slot if you opt for it, tho)). You get all that awesome stuff in exchange for two extra SATA ports, one extra PCI-E x1, and a pump header that normally comes with the Tomahawk Max. IMO, that's an easy trade-off! In terms of quality, I've gotten MSI motherboards in the past and I've never had a bad experience with them. The Mortar Max holds on to that MSI quality I know and love!Overall, I recommend the heck out of this motherboard! It's one of THE best B450 motherboards out there, with a solid VRM & heatsink, rear I/O, PCI-E slots, etc. I got this motherboard for my Ryzen 5 3600 compact build and I couldn't be happier with the results! (Btw, the 3600 worked with the board fine without flashing the BIOS, but I flashed it afterwards anyway for the optimization & compatibility updates.)

Works like a charm with Ryzen 5600G. Super silent even under heavy loads. You can play older titles with breeze. Have tried COD black ops, battlefield4, NFS Run, IGI1 so far, all work easily at around 50 fps with no lag or stutter in medium setting. If you get a deal at around 9k, go eyes closed with it.

Scheda di qualità che vale davvero il suo prezzo. È molto solida e anche bella da vedere. L'ho abbinata a un ryzen 5 3600 e a 2 bacchette di ram Ballistix da 3200 mhz (tuttavia ho dovuto attivare il profilo a-xmp nel bios, altrimenti andava a una frequenza un pochino più bassa. I valori delle ram sono comunque stati riconosciuti correttamente). Il manuale è davvero dettagliatissimo e volendo si possono scaricare ulteriori istruzioni dal sito che spiegano come montare ogni singolo componente. Anche le istruzioni per inserire i pin del case sono molto chiare.Come già segnalato da altri utenti, le ram vanno montate secondo un preciso schema, quindi date un occhio al libretto!La sto usando con Linux (Manjaro) e non ho avuto nessun tipo di problema.È la mia prima scheda MSI e credo proprio che non sarà l'ultima.
