Trickle charger not jump starter. Make sure your lighter socket has power.
Not amazing, but could be used as described. I actually bought this just for the connectors as it was really, really cheap at the time. I wound up not cutting it up as I originally intended.Plug in the lighter socket, switch to "charge" and it will charge most jump starter type power banks. Flip to "starter" and it will check for power at the lighter socket side and if it finds some voltage it will attempt to charge by delivering about 15.5v from your 12v power bank. I'm not sure of the maximum power it can deliver but if you assume the car battery comes up to ~12v pretty quickly and there is around an ohm of resistance in the circuit, the power being delivered to the car battery is ~10W. Consider this a trickle charger, not a jump starter. If your car wasn't cranking quite fast enough to start, plug this in and set to "start" then go back into your home and have a nap for an hour or so. After that long wait, your car might start. However, some cars do not have the lighter socket connected to the vehicle battery unless the ignition switch is on, which often means other devices like radio, lights, etc are on which consume more power than this device can feed into the car; so you'll eventually drain both batteries and be even worse off.The "digital display" just displays the voltage on the lighter plug end of the device. If the switch is set to "start" and there is no power at the lighter plug, the display will continue flashing until a connection to the car battery is active.

Crap not worth anything
Don't expect this to jump-start anything. Purchased before the cold weather so I can't return. When the car almost starts's this doesn't do anything. At least I can use it to charge the power bank after I open the hood and start the car...
