Used my Mac mini as a home theater pc but when I replaced my AVR and TV I started to have screen flicker issues. The high resolution audio still worked but could not tolerate the flicker. This active mDp to HDMI adapter saved the day for only $15.Use the Mac mini primarily for streaming multichannel high resolution audio and all is good.

I wanted to connect a hard wire from my office PC to our Family room TV, in order to stream from the internet. This little pigtail does a good job of converting the DP output from my HP desktop to HDMI and has enough power to push signal through 25 feet of HDMI cable and through an active 3-way switch to drive the TV. I wish that new TVs had more than 2 HDMI ports - I know that they want me to go wireless, but you have to live with the signal you have.... So far, so good!
