I have a principle to never write reviews on amazon, but this time I had to do it.I eat and drink and take my medications CRUSHED through a gastric enteral feeding tube.All medications must be finely crushed and fully dissolved prior to introducing in the feeding tube.I prefer, whenever available, to use medications formulated and packed in gelatin capsules. These capsules can be easily opened and the powder inside that contains the medication can be easily emptied in liquid, THUS ELIMINATING THE CRUSHING STEP.It was with the intention to eliminate crushing hard tablets that I bought the HEALTHCARE AISLE "omeprazole delayed-release capsules 20 mg". When I opened a capsule, I was disgusted to find that instead of powder containing vehicle and active substance, there is a tablet that must be crushed. The false capsule has doubled the work needed to administer crushed dissolved omeprazole by gastric tube.I do not understand the reasoning and business sense of packaging a medication in this way.Could it be a way to repackage expired tablets or tablets obtained from gray markets?At the very least, HEALTHCARE AISLE must state on the packaging that these a not true capsules and that each capsule contains a tablet.

I have been taking omeprazole for years without any problems, but as soon as I started taking these pills, I developed the worst acid reflux I've ever had. THESE PILLS DO NOT WORK! They are made in India and I do not believe they are actually omeprazole - they don't even look like omeprazol, which are usually small purple pills, these however, are capsules. I went to my local drug store and bought real omeprazole and the acid reflux cleared right up. DO NOT PURCHASE THESE PILLS!

I have been using these capsules for 3 years now. I liked them at first because they were available at most big box stores, they were affordable and seemed to work. I noticed that I would often times get heartburn but just thought it was pretty severe. I would not recommend these to anyone that wants to take them for heartburn. I noticed that the pill that's inside the capsule wouldn't dissolve. I know this because it would be in the toilet. Super odd.

DOES NOT WORK - symptoms under control for a month with prilosec returned after one day on these. AS MANY others have written, when these are opened, they are a very hard white tablet which when bitten does not taste like Prilosec, but tastes like chalk. The granules inside surrounding the mystery tablet also do not taste like anything other than chalk. If you bother to taste or chew them, SPIT - DO NOT SWALLOW. MIght be anything bland - like talc, baby powder, chalk, pumice or cornstarch. Doesn't taste soapy or bitter so probably not detergent or one of the caine derivatives.

My husband is getting great relief with these tablets. Now that the FDA has banned sales of other prescription and over the counter acid reflux meds, we had to find a replacement. This is amazing. Every four months you take the required dose. Set a reminder w Alexa for when to take it again so you don’t miss the four month cycle. Great med and this brand does what it says
