This spray is not just a thermal protectant, it's also a setting spray. It works really well and my waves are nicely defined and smooth. It isn't stiff or sticky at all and even when I use mousse in addition to this spray, my hair is still bouncy and full of body. It also works nicely as a heat protection product and I feel my tresses are safe from the effects of the curling iron when I use it. It has a very light scent that doesn't linger and it doesn't take much to do the job. I use Rusk Thickr mousse and let my hair air dry overnight. In the morning, I use some of the Salerm spray all over and then use the curling iron. I only need to leave the curling iron on for a few seconds and the curls are nicely shaped and look great. I then run my fingers through to loosen up the curls so that they're waves and then I use Bumble and Bumble Creme Contour to piece out my ends and give my hair some shape and hold. I finish with a flexible hold hairspray (Got2b Mind Blowing h/s) and I'm out the door. My waves last for several days with this method and they keep their shape nicely. The Salerm spray makes my hard to hold hair behave and keeps the waves in tact for a couple of days. Who could ask for more? It has great hold and thermal protection properties that keep my hair looking healthy while giving me the hold I really need. It works even in the Florida humidity so it will likely work anywhere. I highly recommend this setting spray. It's a wonder.
