Worked for me on wheel bearing diagnosis
So this worked well for me. I was having a hard time determining what side a noisy rear wheel bearing was on. Using the alligator clip sensor on both sides this easily nailed it down.

Great tool to find source of noise
This device is simple yet very useful. It can be used to pinpoint those hard to tell noises in your car, etc. It basically amplifies it and allows you to listen to it with the included earphones. You can use the spiked tip or you can use the included clamp and attach it to the suspected part (make sure the wire doesn't drag and it won't be caught up on moving parts). It helped me find a worn pulley bearing which was giving off a dull sound which made it difficult to diagnose. Using the tool, the noise was not only heard louder but I was able to easily find the culprit. Overall, it's an affordable and effective tool.

What a surprise!
This little device actually works!!! This model only has one "channel/clamps with acoustic tube" however I don't mind re-attach it around, a little extra time/effort but much cheaper and easier to carry around in the pouch (came with the device). The device without the probe is basically a sound amplifying mic, with the probe, you are able to pinpoint to greatly amplify the sound/noise of certain area, the acoustic tube extension with the clamp works amazingly well, clamp it to the suspension components (closest to where you suspect the noise came from, on a metal part/stud/nut) you will be amazed how clearly you can hear the noise.. when it is attached to the control arms, you can even hear the brake components' noise. (you will have to learn to discern the different type of noise you hear)* someone mentioned the electrical noise/interference etc.. that can only happen in the "probe" mode.. if your car has grounding issue, non resister/bad spark plugs... YES, you will pick up some electrical noise/interference... but that's not this device's fault! Great addition to my tool box! Love it!!!

Know What That Noise is FAST! Great device!
For a long time, a noise under my Jeep got a little louder. It finally got to the point I knew I had to do something or deal with a much more expensive repair. I jacked the car up on stands, had my wife spin the wheels with me underneath with an automotive contact stethoscope listening to the differentials and transmission/transfer case, but never could narrow down the sounds location since it only happened when I hit the brakes and put a load on the bearing, which I suspect were the culprits. THEN, I DISCOVERED THIS FANTASTIC AND AFFORDABLE DEVICE! :-)It's quite sensitive, plugged in the alligator clip mic, then clipped the heavy alligator clip mic onto the transfer case and routed the wires so they weren't touching any moving part. Closed the rear door on the cable and placed the main gun handle mic next to me with it's on/off and volume control. Put one of the two ear plugs in so my other ear could hear the yet to be determined noise. As I thought, it turned out to be a bad pinion bearing in the front differential and a bearing going bad in the transfer case. Where I had spent hours trying to diagnose the problem before, in 10 minutes I knew what the issue was and how to go about fixing it. Best $32 I ever spent :-)

Distortion out of box
Terrible, it was a lil distorted from the box, I thought it was because I was near certain circuits. Completely distorted now and its only 4 months old and had only been used 3 or 4 times, warranty expires in 90 days, I guess I just missed it. I should've sent it back right away, lesson learned, if you have any issues with it send it back right away. I wish someone would step up and help me out, I would accept a replacement. I wad planning on buying the larger sets, not so sure now, that was a bad first impression.
