Not sure our water requires such an expensive item
Our water is some of the best in the nation and I'm not certain it makes sense to filter it as frequently as 3M insists we should, let alone if we even need to filter it at all. We have gone a few years on our first set of filters but I finally surrendered to pressure from my spouse and sprang for another set of filters. To our dismay the new filters impart a slight taste which I think will disappear as they are used more. The taste is as if a teeny tiny amount of baking soda is tainting the water. The water was kind of grey for a while. I cut open our old filter to see what they look like inside and it was a dense pack of what I assume is carbon filtering material. I suspect the initial water flushes taste from the carbon.

Have used these for years…
Great filter. After doing research on the best quality filter, I began ordering these regularly for our under the sink filtration unit. Water quality is excellent.
