I recommend this cap for the 1970 fuel tank
I bought this gas can cap to go on my Ford Torino 1971 there are different variance to this gas can so you have to be careful. Some of them are a little wider or deeper. I opted to go with a 1970 gas tank so this cap worked with this can, even though the gas is different from the 71 I made it work and this gas cap fits snuggly on the back and did not leak I would recommend

It Works, No more locking cap for me
Hey this cap works it was. a little tight at first but now seems fine after the old locking cap would'tcome off. It was a pain in the butt needed to use a large pair of channel lock i was lucky that no piecesfell in the tank. i would buy it again. oh it went on a !965 Chevy Malibu

Great non locking non vented cap for portable fuel tank.
Great non locking non vented cap for portable fuel tank. Needed for long term storage where a locking cap is not necessary. This fit the bill.

Tight fit
A bit tight the first few times putting on gas tank. Much better then loose. I would buy again.Update: About 2 weeks later it was time to get gas. Cap came off but still tight. Couldn't get the cap back on all the way... then I couldn't get it off. Had to get home to get tools to get it off. Did not try to use again. Went back to my ugly original. Found the new cap had bent the fill up tube a bit. Think I'll try a different one!Changing the stars from 5 to 1.

Cheap but fits okay
Cheap construction. The tabs on my cap are not perpendicular to the cap, which just looks cheesy, but the cap did fit the gas tank on my 1966 Pontiac Catalina pretty well. The metal seems maybe a hair thinner than the original. The price was right, but I’d be willing to pay a bit more for higher quality.
