Read the reviews
I made the classic mistake of not reading the reviews. It is apparent that seasoned gardeners discovered the short coming of this product and its packaging. I never learn! The most misleading information provided in the description is indirect: the ad shows a spray bottle. The stuff cannot be sprayed! It is a thick emulsion. The "spray nozzle" must be placed directly against the branch or it will simply dribble out on the ground and on you. The emulsion has to be spread using a brush. TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED.

Best Weapon Against Oak and Aspen
Works great on oak and aspen starts, suckers and shooters. We go through two of these bottles (or the similar competitor, which works identical to this) every spring. Keep in mind that you have to be consistent: you're not killing the root or the entire tree, only what sprouts up. This is especially true with aspen. You may have to return to the same area several times to treat the next batch of unwanted growth along the same root line. Results are obvious within a few hours; stuff is dead the next day. The spray mechanism works, but the consistency of the product is similar to watered down glue. I spray it on the growth then use a junky little paint brush to thoroughly dab it in place.

So Far So Good
We have one of those annoying decorative trees in our front yard and after years of chopping suckers around the base just for them to pop up a week later, we were desperate for an alternate solution. Before spraying this we dug up around the base of the tree to expose the suckers, ripped the suckers off then sprayed the damaged root sections with copious amounts of this stuff. We let it dry for a day then covered the area back up and put our decorative rocks back. It's been almost 3 months and we've yet to see 1 sucker.

ShortChanged
After pouring the chemical into a measuring cup so I could paint the suckers, I received only 13 ounces instead of 16 even after draining the container for 1 hour at 70 degrees. When you pay almost $30.00, you would think the container would come full.

Life Saver
I had a crepe myrtle that got out of control due to a rough winter. When it came back in the spring, it just kept growing a million suckers out of the base, which had had to be cut down to mostly a stump. Every time I tried to prune it, it grew three more suckers for every one I cut, straight out of the base, none of them growing upright and pretty. I was so excited to learn about this stuff. I cut off all the unwanted suckers, sprayed the cuts with this, and months later, my crepe myrtle is sucker-free. If you can cut close enough to a main trunk or branch and coat the cut area with this spray, it will do its job.
