I wanted to test the acid resistance of these hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) capsules. I set up 3 "baths" of Lemon Juice at ~2 pH, 35% Hydrogen Peroxide at ~4.5 pH, and Baking Soda Water at ~8 pH. Here are the results:Lemon Juice: ~35 minutes averageHydrogen Peroxide: ~5 minutes averageBaking Soda: ~35 minutes averageHydrogen Peroxide oxidation must be able to break down the capsule better. I would say you can expect the capsules to last about 35 minutes in your stomach. With this said, most food stays in your stomach for at least 20 minutes, usually 40 minutes or so; then you have another 2 hours in the small intestines. If you are trying to get this to your lower gut, the capsule will be long open.When I tested (not this product) Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose Phthalate (HPMCP), it stayed in the acid for hours and I found it only dissolved when introduced to a base. HOWEVER Phthalates are know as endocrine disrupters.cellulose capsules (again not this product) lasted about 30 seconds to 2 minutes in any substance.I think it would be better if the capsules where thicker. My strategy is to take a size 000 HPMC capsule and nest this inside to give me ~70 minutes of before the capsule is breached.

No taste, open and close easily and is meeting the need to make taking tiny pills easier to manage.

There is no flavor, these are big, but I needed larger capsules. Some might have a problem taking these as they are larger, I have no problem. they're easy to open and put back together. I use gloves as they can start to dissolve if your hands perspire too much while working with them.

Purchased these for making capsules of ground Lions Mane powder. Work perfectly in my plastic tray capsule filling tool. Have made 600 capsule using the 100 count filling tray and not a single failure. Price is a bit high compared to other brands, however quality is good and filling is frustration free. Will likely buy again.
