Good at what it does - negative reviews are expecting something different
This is a great little piece of kit to help you quickly sketch out the structure of an image with the correct proportions. A lot of people seem to think that this will project the image onto your paper for you to trace. This is not the case (and when I bought it. What happens is you put your image (ideally on your phone with a light source) in the stand, and position the plastic screen over the paper you are drawing on. Look at the paper through the screen, and your image is reflect in the screen. You draw on the paper underneath the screen. It feels a bit weird to begin with - like when you reach for something underwater and miss because it is further away than you think, but it doesn't take long to adjust. I did this sketch in about 5 minutes, when it would normally have taken me a couple of hours and lots of rubbing out to get the proportions right. As others have said, make sure you take the protective film off both sides of the screen for it to work best. The instructions say you need the image to have a light source, like a phone or tablet, but I've found I can use paper-based images if I get the lighting conditions right. It's a bit small, so for the A5 sketch I did, I ended up zooming in on the image and moving the equipment around on my paper to work on different parts. Would get 5 stars if it wasn't inappropriately called a projector, and if it were a bit bigger.

Hard to use
The device is cheap, and its purpose and function are difficult to recognise. The room has to be almost dark to see what is reflected - and the image is back to front. You have to try and sketch the image by placing your arms around the perspex and looking through the screen - not easy at all. Altogether not a good buy for my purposes and I'm glad I didn't pay more or it would be returned for a refund!

Not what I thought
Disappointed with this, was not expecting how basic it was. Thought it would portray picture onto paper to enable copying but you have to look through a piece of opaque plastic and your hand gets in the way when drawing. Sent back for a refund.

Excellent
Handy for drawing diagrams straight from phone, or laptop. Sturdy and have had it about 6 months and it is still like when I first got it.Highly recommended for students or art or in general if you need to copy something

Save your money
Absolute rubbish. You have to sketch the image reflected on the perspex but you can’t see the pencil through the glass. The image isn’t projected on to the paper. It is false advertising and I am going to try and get it refunded.Come on Amazon this should not have been allowed.
