Due to the design of the TJ Jeep, this appears straight forward installation yet, the not behind the handle that needs to be removed should be unbolted with care so you don't loose it inside the dashboard. Patience is required and now that it is installed, works very well with the drinks now at a more convenient height.

Their description of a 20-minute install is incorrect I have a 2005 TJ Jeep Wrangler. I do not however have the time to take off half of the dashboard to put this on. the connection hole should be slotted so you don't have to back the screw out all of the way to put it into place. It is not in the location for the screw is a place that only gnomes can travel to. Maybe if I had a incredibly well trained squirrel it would take 20 minutes I do not nor do I have the time to train a squirrel to turn a wrench. Yes in fact one person can do this but I recommend you being a garage and having at least a few hours of free time to kill. Also a very good working knowledge of how your dash comes apart.

***Beware of this drink/phone holder. The jaw on this holder is not nearly strong enough to hold anything shown in the description. I got 1st degree burns from my coffee because the claw wasnt strong enough to hold a 16oz cup of coffee... will be returning this product back as soon as possible and ordering something else that is just a dedicated cup holder. There is no way that the claw can hold a beer or bottle as shown in the pictures for this product. Also, the metal that was used to construct the holder is very flimsy and flexes alot. Please, avoid at all cost!!!***

Well, I was very excited about the product, until attempting to install. You’ll need a 10mm deep socket to access the nut behind the glove box once you remove. Which, by the way takes some nimble hands to complete. Then, once removed you’ll realized the bracket doesn’t account for the handle mount above your glove box, so either you’ll have to be permanently cut your handle to accommodate the drink holder OR custom bend the bracket (which having all the necessary tools to do, I decided against spending the next 4 hrs likely needed to custom fab it) to mount without creating a gap. Was excited about this product but maybe it works for later models...just not the 99’ TJs.

OK.... most comments are talking about no instructions which they should put them in the box. Since this goes on a TJ most should be able to wrench on them. The box comes with the phone/drink holder and a spacer. Remove the glove box. Remove the passenger handle by removing two Phillips screw on each side below the handle and a 10mm nut on each end on the inside. Just the two end ones. Separate the handle from the trim behind it. I had to use a flat head screwdriver to separate. The rubber grommets will slip through the hole. Put the phone holder on the left side and the spacer (to fit visually look which way it goes) on the right then reverse to install.The frame is solid metal but the holder is plastic and the spring could be a little stronger.
