Seriously, this lip stain has saved me so much money, time, and effort. I used to wear lip liner every day because I felt like my lips were on the thinner side (especially when chapped), but I always hated how intense and overly precise lip liners looked. It felt like there was never a true in-between shade. It was always either brown or red.I eventually gave up on lip liner because touching it up constantly was annoying, and I was always losing my lip products. Then my mom showed me this lip stain, and I’ve never looked back.At first, I was like “eh, whatever” because there are so many gimmicky, all-the-same lip stains out right now. But she wanted me to try it since she has darker lips and was curious how it would show up on mine. So I tried it. AND SOMETIMES (perhaps more than sometimes) moms really know what they’re talking about. I have NEVER EVER gone back.I usually hate lip stains. They’re always some red, or berry TINT and I just wanted something natural with a hint of flush. Plus, most stains wear off in like an hour. But this one? I’ve repurchased it over and over again.For context, I love going out clubbing. I can apply this around 10 PM before heading out, and when I get home, it’s still on my lips.I usually leave it on my full lips for a minute, then “line” my lips with it like a lip liner for about five minutes. Sometimes I repeat that for more coverage. My go-to is the shade XOXO, but I’ve also tried Beautiful, Adore and Neon Rose. Those were super pigmented. XOXO is my favorite since it feels like my natural lip shade with a half a shade darker and more neutral in a sense to where it works like a contour. I feel like the shade “beautiful” was almost like XOXO but with a bit more “flushness” to it! A natural tone for sure but MORE coverage. Adore was similar in the way of a natural tone but a pink more on the pinkish side! && Neon Rose was a NEON pink and lasted so long I literally woke up the next morning and it was still there. I remember the first time I applied “Neon Rose” and I did it same way I did with XOXO, and the color lasted from the moment I finished my makeup (around 4am) to the moment before I went to bed to do my nighttime routine (6pm.) since then I know now if I want to use neon rose it needs to be like 5 seconds applied seriously.This product lets me go out without carrying a full makeup bag. No touch-ups, no worries about losing lip products at the club. Just throw it on before I leave, throw one lipgloss in my tiny purse and go.I took forever to write this review because every time I use it, I get so excited watching the magic happen that I forget to take a picture.Also, people complain about the peeling part, but who cares? I always just wipe it off. It’s not a big deal when the results are this good.You get so much bang for your buck, especially with bold shades. Yes, it can feel a little dry eventually, but even then it stays opaque and visible. And coming from someone who hates spending more than $5 on makeup or skincare, this is one of the very few exceptions I’ll make. It’s worth every penny.(Top picture is before applying the lip stain, and bottom picture is after applying and leaving the lip stain on for about 1 minute)I will never use another lip product again.

Okay so just for reference, I am a pale girl. We're talking the sun has not touched my genes in probably centuries and if the weather forecast says it's going to be sunny, I preemptively burn. So, I need a little bit of help if I don't want to look like the ghost of Christmas past. If I knew anything at all about make-up, I'd probably be a lipstick girl, but alas, I am absolutely useless at doing anything past a few basic techniques that I picked up from the wonderful world of youtube back in the day. I also tend to prefer a very natural sort of look for my own personal taste.I was very much influenced by social media on this one, and it's one of those cases where I'm glad I was influenced because I will end up keeping this in my makeup bag for years to come. I really don't wear or own lipstick, but this adds a nice pop of color to my lips that definitely brightens up my face. The stain itself is VERY subtle. It could pass for my lips but slightly more vibrant, which is exactly the look I am going for. If you are hoping for something more dramatic, you might want to look elsewhere.Do not believe the videos that show this peeling off. This isn't that kind of product. Swipe it on like a lipgloss - a heavier coating is better - and then let it sit for about a minute or so. I usually use a damp tissue to remove it and this works really well.A couple quick tips:1) Make sure your lips are nice and exfoliated. This is really true of anything that stains your lips, but just so you don't end up with sort of a weird patchy effect, make sure your lips are free of dead skin.2) Do this before you do any sort of foundation, unless you're an absolute wizard at wiping because otherwise you'll need to redo the makeup around your lips.Overall I think this is a nice option if you want something very subtle that will last for a reasonable amount of time. It's not an all day sort of product, at least not for me, but it does the job if I'm going out.

I ordered the Whimsical color. I love the color. It took me a few times to get used to it because I don't normally wear color on my lips. But I really like how the color highlights my face. The application of the lip stain is easy, but gets easier the longer you apply it. If you are not the type to "stay within the lines" when painting or coloring stuff, applying the lip stain takes practice. It goes on blue, but make sure you wipe away any "overage" because it will stain areas that are not your lips. There is a slight tingle after a minute or so, but not bothersome. There is no smell or taste. I have left the lip stain on for one minute and up to four minutes. The longer its on, the deeper the color, and the harder it is to take off. It doesn't actually peel off. You must wipe off with either a dry or wet tissue or cloth. I find that if I use a wet tissue or cloth, some of the color wipes off too. As soon as I get all of the color off, I apply a lip gloss. I suggest using something that is non-oily. Oil-based products can remove the color all together. My lips are very sensitive, meaning they breakout in cold sores if sunburnt, or severely chapped, or if there is a chemical in a lip balm that my lips do not agree with. And also sometimes when I am under a lot of stress. So, I need to be careful and to use all-natural lip products to avoid cold sores. Here's the good news: the Wonderskin Lip Stain did not make my lips breakout. That makes me a happy camper! My only complaint is, contrary to other reviews, the color lasts about two hours -- maybe three is you don't eat or drink. I wish it lasted for at least eight hours. As such, this product can be expensive because you have to reapply it often to maintain the color throughout the day. Having said that, I still like the lip stain and just ordered a new color -- which I can't wait to try!
