A family member is undergoing Chemotherapy treatment for cancer, and was experiencing some ostracizing behaviors when she wore blue or yellow masks to help minimize exposures while being immuno-compromised, as it seems that most people thought that she was contagious. Since switching to pink, most people seem to be much more understanding and accepting. Anything that we can do to make cancer treatment less stigmatizing is positive for the patient.

I purchased these to use while riding my bike around the city, which I do every day, as that is my main form of transportation. Besides having issues with pollen and mold, I found I was getting a stuffy nose and scratchy throat, likely to breathing in all the city dirt and vehicle exhaust fumes, not to mention unwanted swallowing of the occasional bug (ugh!).I have used these for several weeks now and find that the masks really help with those issues, and I like that they also reduce the sun exposure to my face. It can be a little tricky to wear the mask while riding, because it does get hot, and it sometimes creates steam/fog in my glasses. I usually have sunglasses on during the day, and I wear clear white goggles at night to protect my eyes from the dirt/smog as well. When I get the fog effect, I just lower them to just below my nose while still covering my mouth.It works just fine for the intended purpose, but as others have pointed out, there is a chemical odor, and I have to wonder what the heck I'm breathing into my lungs and if I'm not trading one pollution problem for another. After a very long ride, I find that the long ingestion of the chemicals seems to alter my sense of smell for several hours, and I'm frequently walking around the house trying to figure out "what's that weird smell," when nobody else smells anything weird but me. Sometimes I will use my Neti pot after a long ride, or go in the steam room and sauna at the Y, and that seems to help clear things up a bit, but that's not always an option.I will continue to use these until I can find a similar mask that does not have an odor. I suppose I could just tie a piece of cloth around my face and accomplish the same thing, but I love that these are disposable, and I love the lightweight comfort of them and the elastic earbands, which are not as easy to recreate in a jerry-rigged cloth version. I don't necessarily need the virus protection - just dust and dirt - so after experiencing these, I will be looking for something similar that is chemical-free and simply protects against dust and dirt.I do find the mask comfortable, except for the heat-inducing part. I haven't used them with the intention of any type of virus protection, so I can't speak to that. But I suppose I will keep this supply, and perhaps use them when riding on public transit during the winter months, when so many rude people and their rude kids are coughing and sneezing with their mouths open (yuck), as I imagine the chemicals will help minimize the effects of my exposure to all the nasty germs. But for biking, I don't need that kind of protection.YMMV.

I'm one of 'those' people you see, walking in the mall, at the grocery store, etc., wearing a mask. If you knew how creepy you sounded when you're coughing up a lung in public- you'd wear a mask too. Not to mention, I don't know where you've been. Maybe you don't have anything contagious or maybe you're getting over a nasty cold- or worse. Either way, I'm not taking my chances. I carry these in my purse- I have a few stashed away in the glove compartment of my car- I've even handed some out to friends/ family.I really wish America didn't view wearing a mask in public as a 'freaky' thing. Maybe some of us just aren't into 'sharing' as much as others are.FTR- I didn't notice any strong odor from these as others have stated.

I work around a lot of flame retardant fabrics, which have this flame retardant coating that dusts off, we are provided no respirators or anything as only the state of California claims it causes cancer. I bought one of these and didn't feel like I was coughing up flame retardant all the time like I usually do after working with the fabrics, and it's purple which I love. It fits comfortably also and they are very inexpensive considering I reuse them a couple times.

Love having these masks. I have extreme allergies. I carry a few in my purse. They come in handy when at the movie theater and someone wears a strong perfume. When filing my dogs nails, it helps keeping the nail dust from going up my nose. I also use them on planes when traveling. Recently went on vacation and a tour bus had a bad,dusty AC. I was lucky I had a few masks in my bag. I was also able to bless another allergy sufferer on that bus. At times, I wish they were a little thicker. But for most part happy I bought them.

After getting a horrible pack of face masks, I decided to try these and they are amazing! The container is really easy to get one mask out at a time and to close up when you are not using them. I use mine to sweep and clean because of allergies and they really help. They are also extremely comfortable and do not irritate my skin at all. I love the purple color!

I was really pleased with this product which came one day sooner than stated. I was pleased with that. The ear loops are not even noticeable when I am wearing them. They last out the time I am on the job and look like new when I am done. I was thinking that I would be fighting fogging on my glassed, but that is not a problem. I have decided that I will not only wear these while outdoors doing yard work, but also while cleaning house, as I have allergies to dust and dust mites and mold, and you stir those up when cleaning. I wish they were made in America, but I saw complaints of poor construction and fogging of glasses on the other products, so I chose this one.

Cute color, ear loops a little loose over the ears ( double loop twice over for a better fit).works well...Tip: if you're trying to avoid a smokers secondhand smoke apply two masks because the smell & smoke kind of seep through :( mask protects from many other things, overall good purchase :)
