Demigod

The only time that I have heard the term 'Behemoth' was in the book of Job. God refers to this massive creation as one that ranks first among the works of God, and no man can ever overpower the beast. Poland's Behemoth back their mighty name up with talent, intensity, and a 5-star album with Demigod.The album opens with the wonderful track 'Sculpting the Throne ov Seth.' The acoustic intro is followed by bone crushing blastbeats and blistering riffs with pin-point accuracy. Nergel's vocals sound great just like any current Behemoth album. The song 'Conquer All' is a fan favorite now. This is one of the most memorable songs off the album. 'Slaves Shall Serve' was very nice live and the closer 'The Reign of Shemsu-Hor' is a magnificant epic track. The drumming done by Inferno is very elite on every track.For those of you who enjoy the music this band creates, you will like them ten times more live! I saw them when they came back to Los Angeles for the Century Media 'Christmas' show when they played with Nevermore. It was a fantastic live show. All of the members blew everyone away with how talented they are. Their stage presense is very good. These Behemoths in the death metal scene have a album that has a great chance of bearing the title 'Death metal album of the year.' This is a must-have for death metal fans. You will NOT be dissapointed. This was my first album that I purchased...since then I have gotten 'Satanica' which is also VERY good. Demigod is definately 5-star material.

Powerful blackened death metal recorded straight from the depths of hell. Unlike the more atmospheric, melodic sound of The Satanist, Demigod shows off a more aggressive, riff centered side of Behemoth. The vinyl sounds great, is short and sweet - clocking in at 41 minutes - and has great replay value. Listen to this album if you're a fan of extreme metal.

This CD should belong in any metalheads collection.

It was on my friend's wishlist and I got it for them, naturally. Given their musical tastes and how much they enjoyed the album I can only highly recommend it within the genre.

this album is slightly over hyped and over advertised as the best death metal album of its year.the first 4 tracks are awesome, but then it blends into my background noise until the last song (in fact i never know when Slaves shall serve come on, it sounds too similar to the previous and next track).but otherwise the first 4 tracks and the last track are the main article in my opinion, which you can just go to an mp3 store to get those.but one cool thing about the album is having the linear notes and sidenotes of what each song means and is talking about.other than that, i would preferably suggest Zos kia cultus or the Apostasy, those are much better and entertaining albums that have a more identifiable sound between each song for the most part :-)p.s. offtopic kinda, and i hope when i get extra money, i will buy those albums myself actually, but i have a long list of other stuff to buy before then

Great album by a great band!

Was a new album, unopened. This album is more on the death metal end of the blackened death metal spectrum than other behemoth albums.

Great cd that arrived intact and on time.

A monstrous slab of blackened death metal , it's pure Morbid Angel worship ( that's not a bad thing it just means it's a far heavier album than their albums before this one ).Personally this is my favourite album of theirs next to the Satanist another 5 star album the music is punishing the vocals are demonic . The songs are some of their catchiest .The live DVD is also excellent their live show is ferocious productions good and seeing them play "I get erection" by TurboNegro though silly is well executed .Great DVD CD combo . Certainly a high point of Behemoths career !

Il loro lavoro migliore.Non c'è una virgola fuori posto, nonostante la densità sonora ogni cosa è lì per una ragione.Il loro stile ricorda i marduk e simili, solo con una componente melodica e compositiva avanti anni luce a questi.

ich kann nur sagen ein absolut geniales album! die lieder sind meist mit vielen verschieden facetten gemacht worden : mal schnelle und mal langsame parts aber immer gut!

Primero decir que no soy un fanatico del death metal. Mi acercamiento al estilo se ha dado con grupos mucho más melódicos como IN FLAMES, DARK TRANQUILITY, CARCASS, ELUVEITIE. Por la parte Black si que en su día profundize un poco más sobre todo con grupos como EMPEROR o SUMMONING que son de mis favoritos. En todo caso hoy en día he dejado un poco el metal en general en beneficio de otros grupos. SIn embargo me llamo la atención este grupo sobre todo desde la leucemia que sufrio su lider hace unos años y que le obligo a que le transplantasen una medula y el grupo me ha sorprendido muchisimo. No lo veo como otros grupos de Death como MORBID ANGEL o DEICIDE. Aqui no se inventa nada pero lo que se hace se hace muy bien con mucha mala lecha y muchisima técnica. La producción es muy buena y para darle variedad al Cd hay variedad de temas: Temas burros a más no poder, temaás algo más lentos (incluso machacones) y otros con algo más de melodía (Siempre bajo una premisas constantes de brutalidad).PD: Mención aparte para Inferno. Que manera de aporrear la batería y encima de todo es que se ve que lo hace de una manera totalmente controalda sabiendo lo que hace y con muy buena técnica (Dicho sea de paso como le apsa al resto del grupo)
