Do you want to improve your speaking skills?
Want to improve your speaking skills?Word Wise by @jelbertwill is an eye-opening guide on how we talk and write to one another. Will explores 400+ of the most common cases of word trash (filler words, hyperbole, and abstractions) and word power (verbs of action, ear candy, onomatopoeia) so that you can supercharge your speech. 🚀My favorite section of the book was ‘ear candy’. I didn’t realize that certain words are a pleasure to listen to and help us connect. You can get more “aural pleasure” listening to a speaker who uses ear candy. 🍭Quick Story: If you go back 6 or 7 years into my life, I was a terrible speaker. Not only was I socially anxious, but I bet 50% of my vocabulary was filler words (like, ah, um, so, but...etc.). It took an incredible amount of practice to reduce those verbal pauses and gain the confidence I have today. If you’ve ever felt that your speaking skills are subpar, just remember, they are skills which means you can improve them.Check out this book as an excellent step 1!

Insightful observation of the impact of words! Also entertaining word play, of the words we say.
I picked up this book as a recommendation from a friend. It's funny how the English language is " A Tale of Two Cities" and this book really brought that out. This book was relatable (Corporate BS, Ego boosting, small talk) and helped me analyze my own usage of the English language. It really makes me want to reduce on the amount of fillers, and really be more direct. The author provided great examples and I found this really entertaining. A short recap was also provided at the end of each chapter. Mr. Will Jelbert, if you are reading this review, my short term memory / attention span thanks you for it! lol but really, if you are reading this, great job! I'm going to check out "The Happiness Animal" next!
