Excellent
Had a different brand that stopped working so thought I would try this one. Really impressed with the quality and is going strong so far so seems decent. Comes with a good case for storage and easy to adjust the temperature for different tasks. Good bit of kit and better than the cheaper alternatives.

Hot stuff
This product has a quality feel to it. Not surprising as it is designed in Germany and built in Europe (in the same factory as Bosch heat guns apparently), for a company that produces a professional range of heat guns as well as DIY orientated ones like this. This particular model is the top of their DIY range, having better temperature control (digital, controllable in 10°C steps, from 80-630°C), a thermostat in the nozzle to regulate this at the business end, and a LED warning light to remind you when the nozzle is hot (which still blinks even after unplugging). As with many hot air guns it has a three speed motor, and will stand on its own on three rubberised pads. The latter is surprisingly stable, despite the lack of outriggers (say like on the DeWalt). Also it has a hanging lug, which could take a strap or chain if you like. However, coming with a carry case, that is unnecessary. The case is well made, and has internal mouldings for spare nozzles and to hold the gun in place. One big selling point of this gun, other than build quality, is the availability of a variety of nozzles. There is one reducer nozzle that comes with the kit, and a further nine different ones that you can buy. Based on the three I have, they all appear to fit very securely to the gun's own nozzle, unlike those for cheaper guns made by other manufacturers. These accessories greatly enhance the usefulness of the heat gun, yet seem to be overlooked by almost every other manufacturer (bar Bosch, which have nozzles that also fit Steinel). There are a few nice design touches about the gun. The handle has a good rubberised grip at the front, making it comfortable and secure in the hand. The speed control is at the rear, easy to slide up and down with the thumb. Just above this is the rocker switch to increase or decrease the temperature, again in easy reach for the thumb. The LCD digital temperature readout is clear and holds steady in use, as the thermostat does its stuff. At the front there is a removable plastic cover around part of the gun's own nozzle, which is heatproof so you can hold it with the other hand as a steady for detail work. Even the power cord is good quality! Is it worth spending £70 to £110 for this kit, when you can get plenty of rival Chinese built products for £30 to £70? I'd say a definite yes, as this one is much more likely to meet your needs and stay in one piece during use (plus it comes with a 3 year warranty). I'm certainly finding more uses for it than I originally intended, and am really pleased with my choice. Finally, as far as retailers are concerned, I'd give a big thumbs up for Greenstik, the firm that supplied the gun and case to me at a very reasonable £70 including (very fast) delivery. Also I'd mention Heamar as a great alternative supplier, which is where I bought my extra nozzles from.

Steinel Hot Air Gun, adjustable temperature with LCD display
Having seen this being used in a production environment, with daily, heavy usage, one can't go wrong purchasing this Made in Germany Hot Air Gun. With adjustable temperature range and LCD display, this will ensure you'll use the correct temperature for the material the heat is being applied on. Used for certain types of work, switch on, place onto the workbench, where is stays upright securely and one can work away. Is it worth the money? Absolutely! This particular Hot Air Gun came with one nozzle, which can be used for most applications and a nice case to place it in.
