Harper Horizon Mooncakes and Milk Bread: Sweet and Savory Recipes Inspired by Chinese Bakeries

This book is currently my favorite!. I have never made bread but all the descriptions are very easy to follow and all of the recipes have photos along with it.

Absolutely lovely book, amazing images and relatively clear instructions.Everything I've made from it so far has been delicious.My only small gripe is when one recipe refers to another, but says to do the previous recipe until Step [#] , before proceeding with the current one, I can get a bit thrown off.Reason being is that none of the steps are numbered, so you are left assuming that each step relates to a paragraph, but feeling a bit uncertain, as some paragraphs seem to contain what would often be different steps in a different recipe. So you kind of wonder if your assumption is correct to what the author meant, and why they hadn't actually numbered them in the first place if they were going to refer to things that way (it's odd since everything else in the book is very clear).This would be less confusing for someone that had done similar recipes before and are more confident, but when you're new to it, it can cause you to pause for a moment trying to sort it out.

I love Chinese baking and this book is amazing. I’ve used the sponge cake recipe and it works perfect.I does reference to using cake flour but I use a substitute of 90g plain flour and 10g cornflour for every 100g of cake flour required and it works.I’ve yet to try the other recipes but loving this book so far.
