When I got this item, I thought it would be too small to do its job. It is only about 6 inches long and doesn't hold a lot of pellets. But it works just fine. I had to buy a propane torch at Walmart to make getting it started much easier. If you let it burn for awhile before adding your meat to the grill, it works much better. Give it a chance to build up a bunch of smoke and for the pellets to get burning good. We went to Home Depot and bought a big bag of pellets for it and HD sells the pellets cheaper than other stores. There are also a few Youtube videos showing you how to use it.

I have a 6" & 12" smoke tubes. I've had the 12" for well over a year and it's as good as new, no corrosion, just darkened up a little. Fill it with pellets or chips and light with a torch, let it burn for a minute then blow it out. These work great for adding more smoke flavor for a pellet grill or gas grill. Shake out the ashes and place in the dishwasher to clean.

I often use my Char Broil propane grill to do, indirect grilling or smoking at lower temperatures. Rather than continuing to add regular wood chips to a chip box, I now use this 6" pellet tube to get consistent smoke for up 2-3 hours, without having to open the lid constantly. Well worth the money and works great! I light it with a small propane torch. Once it's lit, that's it!

I had a longer one by another company. I made an accessory for my smoker using a metal ammo box and the longer one just would not fit. I bought 2 of these so as one went out I could replace it.So far, so good.

I have a 12” tube and would use it for shorter smokes, but it outlasted the meat I was smoking by a couple of hours. With this 6” tube, it’s perfect for shorter smoke times. No more wasted pellets
