Generation Doom

Otep found her muse again after losing it after Hydra was recorded as she had claimed Hydra would be the last. She says the fans brought the muse back so it works both ways, because she brought back some elements she has not used since Sevas Tra. There's a certain radio friendly few songs, which I like because Otep is an amazing artist and deserves to be heard more. I am not going to review it track by track. I will say that some are so wicked they make me laugh, others use words that cut and challenge me as good art should do. I liked Atavist a lot it seems not many did as much as me but this is a true return to form. If you have liked Otep at any point of her career you will find something here for you. I bought the black vinyl for myself and the CD digipak deluxe for a friend, I always try to buy two of a deserving artist's latest and gift one to someone. Overall the album is solid, it might make you laugh, it might make you angry, it might make you head bang, and it might make you dance. Probably all of those things. Just buy it. There's nothing this good coming out anytime soon.

I am new to this group, Otep. When I first heard their music on Sirius XM Liquid Metal I was blown away. So much forceful energy! Some of the later tracks are questionable as to what type of music but for the most part it's great. After hearing them on Liquid Metal I had to purchase the CD from Amazon.

I bought this on vinyl for 12 bucks and it's barely worth that. Great album imo but the production on vinyl is terrible. When I say I can barely listen to it I am not referring to the quality but rather the volume level of the pressing. With the amount of gain I'm putting to this most of my neighbors should be able to hear it, but instead I can barely make it out in the next room...and I have an open floor plan.Bottom line is if you enjot listening to your music at levels granny would approve of then this is the album for you. Recently found this band and I love them so far! This album is awesome!! This is the first one I have purchased, but have two others arriving today. I will probably be purchasing the other albums by the end of the day!!!

Really? She covered that crappy Royals song? Great album, I just don't care for that song and a lot of the modern millennial, hipster folk rock. I even liked the electronic dance song. Go OTEP!

After Hydra not being so god imo, Otep comes back with everything that made her awesome on this album. I was a fan of Sevas Tra and House of secrets when they were released. then she kind of lost her way. Well with Generation Doom, it is the perfect blend of both those albums and was a selling point for me. its also great for gym workouts!

It’s otep! I can’t say anything bad about this band! I love them. This album is amazing!

Good but got old

Some very cheesy lyrics... But still I find enjoyment in this whole album, there are catchy moments, teeth grinding heavy moments and Melodic soft tracks. If you dig the whole 'Nu Metal' thing you may just enjoy this album.

Also ich bin wieder voll begeistert! Einfach nur Geil. Richtig gute Musik, mit Abwechslung wie harte und schnelle Stücke und wieder ruhig und absolut geil auf einander abgestimmt.Shamaya ist einfach in dem Genre die beste. Ich kenne keine andere Frau oder geschweige denn Mann, der eine bessere Stimme hat und vor allem mit in so vielen Facetten.Also absolute Kauf Empfehlung!!!!

Worst OTEP ever. I think the loss of the original Bass player "DOOM"ed the band.

Brachial genial. Otep halt, bleiben ihrer harten Linie treu. Abwechslungsreicher Gesang, Harte Riffs. Für Fans der Band ein Pflichtkauf. Wo Otep drauf steht ist auch Otep drin.

it came day early, the price was great and the quality of the case was amazing, nothing broke, no scratches. highly recommend it.

彼女の様々な歌唱法を使い分けるミクスチャーボーカルワークは素晴らしい。歌詞もメッセージ性の強いものです。今回のアルバムはメロデアスになっていて全体のバランスも非常に聴きやすくて良い。カッコイイ強い女性のRockが聴けるのがOTEP嬢！少々クセの強い部分が好みを分けるでしょうけれど彼女の才能は優れています。個人的に大ファンですから今回のアルバムは一番お気に入りとなっています

OTEPの描いたストーリー。聴いてて考えさせる内容となってるが、英語力のない方は、頑張って翻訳しないと、このアルバムの良さが解らないかも。
