Steak Knives Set of 6 Stainless Steel Full Edge Serrated Steak Knives Dishwasher Safe 

I bought these knives on the strength of the positive reviews from others. I am really, REALLY glad that I did. We have needed steak knives for quite a few years but we nevr found any that were a satisfactory combination of high quality and reasonable price. Until now. I can report without qualification that these steak knives are not only of superior quality but are an outstanding value. They are stainless steel and completely dishwasher safe. They cut all grades of meat effortlessly, like a hot knife through butter! We used them tonight when our family was gathered for our traditional Christmas Eve dinner that included a meat dish. The verdict was unanimous: these knives are the best steak knives anyone has ever used! In fact, I bought a second set within a week of buying the first set after I had used them for the first time on a pork dinner. If you are looking for the best steak knife in existence at an extremely reasonable price, look no further because these knives are it. Do yourself a favor and buy two sets so you never run short of a fantastic steak knife.

Very well designed, love the look and feel, well balanced and super sharp.I love the pointy ends, makes cutting so much easier, these things can cut...They are lighter feeling than I was expecting which is a good thing, the handles are obviously hollow, the grip is nice and the finish is very good, they match my cutlery really well, I replaced a set I had bought previously that had a dull or rounded tip.

Update: Had these for a couple of months and they still cut very well. I have seen a spot or two coming out of the dishwasher (cause I'm not interested in hand-washing :), but it washes off very easily. Customer service with Ashlar has been great. They sent an offer on a discount for a knife block, which I didn't know until after it had expired. I contacted the company and they reactivated the code for me! Great service!!So far these knives our great! They are definitely sharp, and they have cut well so far. I have not yet had any rust spots though they have been in the dishwasher already. They are a bit lighter than I expected, but they still work very well. The handle is a little fatter than I was hoping for so it doesn't fit in my knife block well, but I won't take a star away for that because it is just a compatibility issue. I'll update this if I end up having any problems.

I'm convinced there's no such thing as a dishwasher safe knife. My dishwasher has a sterilization and heat dry mode so when I open the door a few hours/the next day after a cycle it's bone dry.I tested one knife by running it through and there was some slight staining and a hint of a rust mark. I was able to polish it off with a cloth. I can't say I'll run these through the dishwasher. The knives do come with a warning about different water types/minerals etc that can cause this. I supppose of you had a reverse osmosis water supply with all minerals removed and perfectly Ph balanced for your dishwasher they might be ok, but I suspect most people don't.That being said, the knives themselves for the price are the best steak knives I've ever used! They cut steak incredibly well and are very balanced and comfortable to hold.The reality is to simply quickly wash the knives under the faucet immediately after use. I'm single so it only takes a few seconds for me to wash, wipe off and put it back in my knife block. So be it. If anyone finds a true dishwasher safe steak knife, let me know.

After 20 years I replaced my flatware and wanted to find some new, high quality, attractive steak knives to replace my older set. I grill out 4-5 times a week and need a good set of steak knives to carve up my meals.I purchased the Ashlar knives based on the strong reviews and product description and I am not disappointed.The knives are a solid, one piece construction with no seams or rivets. They are very light in the hand, balance perfectly, but feel solid when cutting into meat.How do they cut? Like a great knife should. The blade slides through meat easily with no resistance.They are beautiful to the eye AND dishwasher safe (a big plus).The only negative I can think of is they come in a box of 6 instead of 8. Otherwise these are the perfect steak knives.UPDATE: I loved them so much I bought a second set of 6 so that my family of four has "3 sets" worth of knives!

It's a solid piece of stainless steel. It's very attractive and appears to be highly functional. In practice, the cutting performance is only so-so. The serration is very severe, almost like a saw blade. The edge is sharp, but the serration is so prominent that the meat gets ripped and shredded into tiny pieces along the length of the cut. Other serrated blades do not do this. They don't make the razor cut of a straight edge, but they don't shred the meat either. Despite that, these knives are solidly built and will probably last us forever.

I spent a lot of money on a Chicago Cutlery knife set, and within 3 years I had broken blades and cracked and broken handles. This was just under normal household usage. I needed to replace that set and wanted a set that was built for the dishwasher (who has time to hand-wash dishes anymore?). These were priced right and the reviews were good, so I thought I'd try them out. They arrived in great shape. They have a nice weight and sharp edges, and I couldn't be more impressed. I love it when I get a great buy! I also bought the Ashlar Kitchen knives, which I am equally pleased.

For the cost, a fair set of knives. They shipped and arrived in a timely manner. I bought them because they are rust resistant and dishwasher safe...there is a paper with them that recommends handwashing. The first time I ran them through the dishwasher, they had a few rust spots. I'm thinking it is related to water quality in my area, but that was a little disappointing as they did not 'sit or 'rest' in water. They are sharp and cut clean. I use them to cut meat and oranges or watermelon too, and it does the job just fine. I would recommend but bear in mind they are not truly 'stainless steel'. For the cost, not a bad set of knives. I feel they will last a while, so overall I am satisfied with my purchase.

these are great, cuts through grilled meat like butter and really well balanced for use.HAND WASH ONLY - just be carefully because they are sharpDO NOT put these in the dishwasher, you'll get brown spots and they won't stay sharp for long.Also, don't leave them sitting in the wet sink, they will spot that way as well.Proper maintenance is not unreasonable, this is a great product and benefits well from proper care.

Once I opened the package, the first knife I took out Hassall a rust spot. I will be requesting a refund
