I was riding down the road when I heard this horrible loud noise. I looked in my rear view mirror and saw my spare tire in the middle of the road. I ordered the new part and my son installed it. Very easy. Now my spare is back under the car and I have my cargo space back.

As others reviewed, the carrier which goes thru the center hub of the spare tire wheel DOES NOT fit in the hole if you are carrying the original wheel as a spare. The non OE carrier is about 1/4" to 1/2 "wider than OE, so you will not get it thru to mount. I even emailed seller before buying requesting width of the carrier based on other reviews. They only responded that it was exact to OE, which it is definetly not. Stay away from this if you are mounting OE spare wheel.

Exact fit, easy install. Spare out of bed and back where it belongs.

Cost was cheaper then dealer, it fit my 2001 dodge 2500 diesel truck to the t! Would buy it again

Easy part to replace, seems well built and the mechanism is smooth. Bought this one in particular because it had positive reviews and was a fraction of the cost of the Dorman replacement.Just a single bolt holds the mechanism in place, which took a surprising amount of ugga-duggas from the impact wrench to remove. I think they applied a bit of red threadlocker from the factory. I added some blue threadlocker before bolting the replacement back up.No longer will my spare tire occupy precious space in the bed of my truck! I only wish I had replaced this part sooner, not sure why I waited so long.

Easy and fast DIY replacement. If you haven't changed yours yet it's probably seized – you should confirm to avoid being stranded because you can't access your spare. Part seems well made and functions as it should. It looks slightly different than the OEM part but installs perfectly. Doesn't come with 2 mounting bolts but you can simply reuse the factory ones. Last thing is it's easier than you might think working under your truck – there's lots of room because you're working behind the axle and the spare is removed so it's cavernous. If I could do it, you can too!
