Northpoint Ardour Diamond Embossed Velvet Throw, 50" x 70", Slate

I love this blanket! It is so soft and cozy. It is not super thick, just a light blanket. I love cuddling up with it on the couch. My dog loves it, too. The blanket does not seem to attract her hair very much. To my eye, the color is a teeny bit more lavender-ish than in the Amazon picture but it is pretty close (I bought the Mauve one). I just love the material, so fluffy. I have not washed the blanket yet, so I do not know if it washes well. However, I can already see the diamond pattern wearing off. Some other reviewers have commented that the pattern goes away after a while or after washing the blanket. That seems right to me. I will still like the blanket, even when the pattern disappears. But if the pattern really matters to you, you might be disappointed.I also cover myself with the blanket when I take a nap on the couch. It is just long enough for me (I am about 5'5'') but if you are very tall, it might be too short.Update: I had to wash the blanket on the highest setting because my dog got ill and I had to wash all of our blankets on a high temperature. The blanket came out super soft, just as it was when it first arrived. The pattern, however, faded a lot. I don't mind, since I still love the color and the material. Be aware that when you wash and dry the blanket, it will give off fluff and everything else you wash/dry with it will be covered in a layer of fuzz. Learned that the hard way X)Update: The blanket has started shedding a lot for some reason. My microfiber couch and ottoman have lint from the blanket all over. Taking off one star for that reason :/

I was so excited when this came in the mail today and immediately threw it into the wash so I could use it on my massage table tomorrow. The diamond pattern was just perfect for my decor and it is light enough to still be comfortable during Texas summers. Everything was marvelous until I pulled it out of the dryer and that beautiful diamond pattern was gone. Quite literally washed away. This is the first time I've ever had a blanket lose its pattern like this and the last time I will purchase from this seller. What a disappointment!!!

At first glance this blanket was stunning. The color just right, very soft and attractive. That is where my positive comments end. I always wash new things before using. I put this throw in the washer on gentle with Ecos laundry soap and cold water. I then proceeded to dry it on very low. When I removed it from the drier it was inundated with large balls of fuzz, my drier lint trap...full and just handling it left fuzz on the sweater I was wearing. I am returning it. I would be embarrassed to give it as a gift and have this happen to someone. I never give a negative review but this one felt important to write. I had the highest expectations and now the lowest opinion. If you want a throw to just place on a sofa...for looks...don't ever try to wash it. Then don't hold it near you. I am very sorry.

Very pretty - these blankets have a sheen like platinum. I bought two to cover my taupe couches; they aren't as dark, but these won't be on when "company" is over. They're just to prevent cat fur on the new couches. They're long and narrow and would be perfect to cover the end of a king bed. Please see my photos.

I want to keep this blanket as a pet -- that's how soft and lovely it is. I have another Northpoint throw that's also very soft, but this one is even cuddlier. It's also lightweight (definitely not a heavy blanket), which is a plus in my book -- perfect for spring and fall or when you have the heat on during winter. Moreover, I'm nearly six feet tall and therefore often wind up with my feet poking out from under throws, but since this one is oversized, I can wrap up in it like a happy human burrito.As for the look of it, the diamond pattern is not quite as pronounced in person as it looks online, but it's definitely there -- just subtle. The taupe color is silvery with a touch of purple, which is just what I wanted. It also washes up really well, though I recommend following the directions and washing and drying it separately, because it will fuzz anything else in the machine.

I rec'd this exactly on the date expected. I reviewed this item before purchasing and saw that some other reviewers were dissatisfied with the pattern not being very noticeable. I find it to be just as the picture shows. It is very pretty and extremely soft. It is light weight so if you tend toward the cold side and want something heavy for major warmth this may not be for you. But as I live in the South-east, this throw is perfect for me.I ordered mauve, but to my eye it is more of a light purple, but that is still great for me. I have an apple green sofa and an eggplant colored love seat, so this will be perfect on either one. I would recommend this to those that, like me, just want a light weight throw for chilly nights in front of the DVR.

Someone else said not to wash this throw - I should have listened! Not only did I wash the two I purchased I washed them a second time thinking that the ton of fuzz that came off of them in the first washing would miraculously disappear on the second washing. Nope - they are far worse the second time they were washed. In short these can't even be gifted to the shelter or other needy agency during the holiday season. Don't purchase these if you think you'll ever wash them.

kinda like how the color seems to change depending on light, sometimes it looks grayish blue and sometimes grayish purple. never really gray only like pic.. as for quality, its way too thin, literally almost as thin as a thick cotton pillow case!thankfully we did not get them to cover up with and since this size is hard to find at our local stores, we are happy with the three we bought to cover our couch up with in the end..oh throw is not cat friendly, already showing snags after one full day of use from cats simply walking/laying on it, so if you have cats than look elsewhere if you want a throw to last you a while.
