What a wonderful heartwarming story full of wit and charm.
The Boy on the Shed is one of the best books I've read in recent times. The heart warming story tells the tales of Paul Ferris, from his childhood in Northern Ireland playing for Lisburn Youth to his football/physio success with Newcastle United. Paul's success both on and off the football field has resulted in some charming stories being told about his family, friends and some footballing legends. Paul's story is extraordinary and the book gives a wonderful insight into his amazing talents as a footballer, physio, lawyer, husband and father. This is a wonderful heartwarming book that is full of humour, heartache and the love for family for the Lisburn hero. A must read for all, with tears and laughter guaranteed.

A fantastic holiday read
I'm no prolific reader, but I felt like one with this cracker from Paul Ferris. You forget that this is someone writing about themselves, the story is fabulous. Some truths confirmed about certain individuals at St James Park too. Sounness, Ashley, Owen, Gullit, Barton. No surprise inclusions in that list, but all exposed for some pretty ordinary behaviour. Get this book and it ill entertain you like it did me.

A beautifully told story by Paul Ferris. Sad, inspirational and humorous while holding your attention throughout. Best memoir I've read in years.
