Rich orange-red and tan colors finish the print. "Curtained Window" is a digital photograph that was slightly manipulated using software to highlight certain characteristics of the image. Click on the white arrows on either side of the image to see how this print would look matted and framed. This old barn is made of vertical board and batten siding that was recently painted bright red. The siding is weathered and rough, which is apparent even through the coat of paint. The window was cut out of the siding, with no frame or trim. A panel was once made into a shutter, most likely the siding that had been cut out. You can see a lone board still attached to two metal hinges painted red. Some narrow boards and one bracket are visible in the lower left hand corner. I don't know what their purpose is, unfortunately. Next to them is a small hole in the siding at the bottom, with a power cord running through it. A peg of some sort is next to the hole. The makeshift window is curtained with two pieces of tan burlap that were probably once grain sacks. You can see a few heavy threads running across the fabric near the top. The bottom edges are fringed. The right curtain panel is tacked up to the remaining board of the shutter near the top. making a graceful loop of fabric. A white fabric tag hangs from the right panel. Above the window is affixed a narrow board serving as a drip cap. Inside the barn is dark. A stack of hay bales are set underneath the window, and one bale tips precariously out the window. Underneath the left curtain panel is a red horizontal line. Additional print sizes are available, including small sizes for collage frames.
