Disappointed
I’ve bought the speck grip cases for years, loved how the spines were soft and grippy. So sad there not very good anymore. They might save iPhone from 16 feet. Because it will slip out of hand easy. No more grip.Anyone have a case that’s grippy and looks nice???So sad, Kevin

Everything right except one thing...
This case is great. It think hard shell exterior the impact protection interior make for one of the best protective cases short of buying an Otterbox. However this case is not without its flaws.Let’s start with the grip or lack there of. The ridges on the back of the case are supposed to provide additional grip. However, due to the material this case is made out of as well as the antimicrobial coating make this case quite slippery in fact, especially if you have sweaty hands like me. Now don’t get me wrong the ridges do add additional grip as compared to a regular clear case but certainly could’ve been better if maybe the ridges were rubber.Secondly the buttons are not the best out of the box. They are super hard to push and don’t have very much travel so they don’t feel great to push at first. However, because they are made of a soft rubber, usage over time does soften them up and make them feel better. There is also regulatory markings under the power and volume buttons some may not like that but ultimately the case looks better for it.I’ve had many Speck cases over the years. As true of all Speck cases this case is exceptionally durable. This will 110% protect your phone no doubt about it. It’s also perfectly clear so it displays the beauty of your 12 Pro Max.This is very close to perfect but there are some refinements that need to be made. Specifically the stiff buttons and slipperiness. But if you can look past those 2 things as I did you’ll be happy with this case.

Hard and slippery with impossible to use buttons
I specifically buy cases with extra grip because most are way too slippery and cause me to accidentally drop my phone. The exact opposite reason I want a case on my device. I've owned the Speck CandyShell case before where the ridges were literally soft, grippy rubber. The downside was after 12+ months of use the rubber starts to break off the case which is probably why they don't make them anymore. In contrast, the clear model of this case is 100% hard plastic with zero softness, 0 rubber, and 0 grip. Additionally, the power and volume buttons are nearly impossible to use as the case is so stiff and hard. I would NOT recommend this particular case. One thing the case does do well is fit tightly, but it is a real pain to get on/off due to how stiff and hard it is. And it is well designed for raised bezel so you can lay the phone flat and neither the screen nor the cameras will touch the surface you've laid it upon. This also means the phone in the case lays fully flat, the cameras don't protrude and cause it to lay directly on the camera lenses like many other cases.
