Love this bilingual book for my little one!
This is one of our favorite books for story time - we’ve been reading it to our little one since he was an infant and he loves the colorful pictures of Bobo and the yummy food. The food reminds me of my childhood. I love the Chinese and English writing on each page and counting the items with our son. Highly recommend!

Super Cute. Bright, adorable, and easy to read
Very cute. We are a bilingual family, and while I wish this was in traditional characters, it is easy enough to read. The kids enjoyed the simple “story” and the illustrations are super cute, colorful, and engaging for a board book.

Amazing Chinese children's book -- perfect for parents to read with kids in Mandarin or English
My niece is six years old and struggles with Mandarin. Her parents have tried engaging her with multiple Chinese books, but she found these other Chinese children's books to be bland and uninteresting. Then we read BoBo to her, and now she's hooked on Chinese.Using food as a hook is pure genius. Kids love food. The charming storyline and whimsical illustrations keep her captivated throughout, which makes this uncle a tad jealous because my magic tricks lose her attention after 10 seconds. In fact, she loves BoBo so much, she asked for a toy version of BoBo and wondered if she could watch BoBo on Disney Plus. Needless to say, BoBo is now part of her nightly bedtime routine. Also needless to say, I'm hoping BoBo doesn't become so big that I need to shell out $100 for a stuffed toy. From an adult perspective, my favorite part of this kids book is how all lines are in Mandarin, pinyin, and English. I can efficiently teach all three at once.Couldn't recommend this book more.

Who doesn't love a red panda named Bobo?
This was really a pleasant surprise! I thought it might be worth the investment and it totally is. This is a pricier board book ($15.88 at the time this review was written), but it has helped to bring back our 2.5 little's counting ability in Chinese! Our little one enjoys learning the food names, looking at the pictures, and counting the food items on each page with me. She also adores the little ladybug that is flitting in and out or hiding in each page. The sentence patterns are simple, but the verbs and measure words keep changing, so there's a lot to learn in this book! It's not immediately apparent that there's an audio reading, but if you go to the book/publisher's website (sunbridge.co) you can find one. Also, a YouTube channel has done an audio reading as well.

Must-have for beginner Mandarin learners
I don't have kids yet but I have been trying to brush up on my (very elementary) Mandarin skills. As part of that effort, I have purchased my fair share of Mandarin-language children's books that have simple sentences as a way to practice my tones.BoBo Loves Dumpings is a great addition to my collection thanks to the combination of pinyin, Simplified Chinese, and English all on the same page. I also appreciate that the authors tried to utilize a wide variety of measure words and time phrases (then, next, last), which makes it more interesting and educational than your average kid's Mandarin book. Finally, the illustrations are also fantastic - they are adorable and eye-catching!I've already recommended this book to all my friends with young kids!
