A very candid, frank, eye-popping perspective of the history and current assessment of "niggerism" in America. I myself am a God-fearing, white, heterosexual, Veteran, middle-aged, lower-middle class, married male with two legitimate children; I am a son of a career enlisted military father who brought no "silver spoon" to our lives, and I'm waiting for a white man to publish the same brutally honest critique from another perspective. God rest you, Anthony Hervey. I miss you already.

Anthony - true patriot.
I heard about Anthony Hervey and wanted to read this before he was killed. I have read it now and regret I will never get to meet this great man.

Rest in peace Anthony Hervey
Very simply written. Easy to understand. He tried very hard to get his message out even though his own people won't listen. Someone from Amazon should read this book and you may see how stupid you are for banning most things Confederate from your site. This is more than likelymy last Amazon purchase.

A VERY important book by an average man who took a stand for his beliefs - and was murdered for them. Buy it while you can!
It's the book that Al Sharpton doesn't want you to read - and for that fact, you need to read it. Hervey was killed for his beliefs and while this apparently self-published book is a fairly quick read and it's not the best-edited book you'll ever read, it is important in how it lays out his agitation with the black race, as a whole, laying blame for all their problems on everyone but themselves. This is a volume on self-responsibility and on how race baiting drove Hervey farther and farther away from the mainstream so-called "leaders" of the black community. Proud of his Mississippi heritage, Hervey regularly spoke on the roles of slaves, free black men in the South, and black soldiers who fought for the Confederacy. For being unashamed to speak of history, as it actually was, and for being ashamed at easily duped black people have been since the Civil Rights movement, Anthony Hervey was murdered, and nobody said much of anything about it.Buy this book while you can still get a copy of it - this is an important book written by a man who refused to blame others for his problems and greatly feared for well-being of future generations. Again, the book is a little rough around the edges as far as his writing style is concerned, but you clearly get the message Anthony Hervey was sending. Buy this one, this will become a very sought-after volume in the years to come.

I ENJOYED IT.
The book is very simply written so no one will have trouble understanding it. With that being said, he doesn't go into much detail about the flag but definitely attacks the welfare system. He drives the point home factually as a black man, he states that black America has traded one form of slavery for another. Some may find it offensive but I think he is straight forward and to the point. I ENJOYED IT.

I do not like it but I think he uses it to make ...
The author (rest in peace) is obviously not an accomplished writer but his intentions were well founded. I purchased the book to help his family as he was killed by three men who ran him off the road on his way back from a rally to support the Rebel Battle Flag as his ancestor was a soldier in the Confederacy. The language is at times simplistic and crude, but he was a black person and use of the "n" word has been deemed okay if spoken by a black person. I do not like it but I think he uses it to make a point. I would not have purchased the book had he not been murdered because he stood up for his beliefs.

excellent narrative, very simple and straight to the point
excellent narrative, very simple and straight to the point, as a Afro-Latino I can identify myself a lot with what he exposes in this book. Good reading, I recommend it.
