I am reviewing the 2 pound package of Excelsior High Caffeine Content Dark Whole Bean coffee by Negro Coffee sold by 7Red Coffee Co. I received this delicious coffee at a discounted price in exchange for an unbiased opinion. I give this item five stars for the following reasons. My opinions are not influenced by price. All comments are my own, valid and I stand by them.I love coffee but am not a multiple cup per day drinker. I usually have just one 16 ounce mug each morning. More coffee, or coffee later in the day will keep me up, when I already have insomnia. I will frequently brew (my coffee maker grinds the beans before brewing) by putting less water per bean ratio to get a stronger blend. But with Coffee Negro Excelsior one big mug will take care of all your caffeine needs for the day and do it deliciously.This scrumptious dark roast whole bean coffee is fabulous. Talk about a high octane jolt with a smooth, rich no bitterness flavor! This is the best, I am not kidding, coffee I have ever had. I have drunk it for about five days running, and today I made half my normal amount, about 8 ounces instead of 16, because my engine can't keep running like a race car every day of the week! I could feel myself vibrating for the last several days, which was good because I had a lot to do, but bad, because when I went to settle at the end of the day, at 1:00 am my mind and body would not shut down. Granted it took me about three hours to finish my coffee (I have a really well insulated coffee to go mug), but I could not settle down almost 12 hours after drinking this yummy brew.Further full disclosure: Each of my reviews is very sincere because I depend on quality reviews when I buy on Amazon, so I take the review process very seriously. If my review assisted you in any way with your decision to purchase or not, that makes me very happy because I am doing my job well.In conclusion, if you are a coffee lover and a caffeine junkie you must try Negro Coffee Excelsior (which I believe has to do with the size of the bean and possibly the darkness of the bean also). It tastes wonderful and delivers a punch that will keep you buzzing for many hours. Added benefits are that this coffee is fully organic per the USDA and Fair Trade. You absolutely will not regret, as a coffee lover, one dime that you spend for this delicious full bodied bag of beans.

I had a chance to pick this up at an introductory price, and am very happy I did. I've been drinking it almost exclusively for the past few weeks and enjoy it quite a bit. (Another reviewer commented on the name of the coffee, suggesting that it is awkward. Negro just means "black" in Spanish, though, and this is a very dark coffee. The name fits.)It's a very bold flavor, and they are not kidding it has a high caffeine content. A cup of this gives me a much more noticeable jolt than usual.I've ground it for use in an espresso machine, and also used it as regular drip coffee. I like it both ways, though I think I prefer it in my espresso machine. There's no indication on the package of when it was roasted.Unlike some other reviewers, I do detect a hint of bitterness in the aftertaste of this coffee. I don't mind that, but it does seem to be there. Other than that the flavor is rich, and ... can I say "roasty"? ... with just a hint of dark chocolate. It's good coffee.

Despite the unfortunate name, this is delicious coffee. I prefer a rich, bold taste and this coffee delivers. You can tell it's good as soon as you open the bag and the aroma hits your nose. When making a single mug for myself, I typically use two tablespoons of beans in the grinder and get the perfect cup for me. Depending on your preference, you may need more or less. The taste notes are strong, with a smooth finish, no bitterness.

I love this coffee and have ordered it several times. It took awhile to get accustomed to the extra caffeine, but I love the energy boost it gives. It's so good that I drink it black. It's the best!!

I like strong coffee and this fits the bill. I ground it semi-fine and it made a great strong cup of coffee. I'll be buying this on again.

Obviously not fresh. Zero aroma. Tastes like Folgers.

Got this coffee during launch for $1 and free shipping which was fantastic. The coffee is great if you like a dark roast. The coffee has a rich body and hints of chocolate. I enjoy my coffee really strong so it took a few tries to find the right bean to water ratio, which is higher than I was used to. Overall great product, especially for the price.
