6 Months. Quick review.
Positives- Excellent value for money. A fraction of the cost of flagship models but for someone who doesn't game or expect flagship level images, why pay more?- No faults, no reliabiltiy issues.- Battery life remains solid. I charge once a day whilst sleeping and rarely dip below 50% during a days usage. Note. I'm not a heavy user nor do I partake in much social media shenangians.- Most of my usage is productivity, MS Office, conferences, Web browsing, YT videos and a few misc apps.- Having jumped over from IoS I don't miss it in the slightest. The MIUI is pretty sleek once you have customized it to your taste.- It has survived a few drops using the supplied clear case and a tempered glass protector on both screen and camera. 0 damage sustained. Note. On average I go through 2 smart phones a year through damage whilst at work. A driving consideration for buying a cheaper phone this time.- 5G is mega.Negatives- MY biggest one. AndroidAuto. This worked fine earlier in the year before the MIUI received a significant update. Since then I have found Auto to be sluggish and glitchy. I no longer use it and have it disabled. Instead I rely on BT connection with my car for music and the on device maps to navigate. I have explored many potential fixes including hard factory resets. I will remain patient for AAs replacement when Google and Mi release it.- Adverts. MIUI by default includes some bundled adware which is annoying. It CAN be disabled after some fettling with the settings and I no longer see any ads within MIUI.- Thats it. Nothing else of any concern to me. I appreciate there are negative politics behind these phones amongst other brands, but I honestly don't have time to pay this any mind, so long as my device works.5/5 rated against bang-for-buck.

Great speed and battery, poor camera
Superb phone for the price. Very fast, amazing battery life and vibrant screen. Runs apps quickly. Not as fast as my P20 Pro but close. Camera is poor though so don't expect decent picture. Tends to over espouse images. For the price, bargain.

Great phone especially at the price. Even for an older user like me its really easy to use.
Have had the phone now for around a month. Easy set up, Easy to use. Great screen and sound. Why would anyone want to pay the ridiculous prices of other manufacturers when you can get a phone of this quality for this price. Brought to replace my aging, and rapidly failing HTC1 and am well impressed. Internet download speed is excellent even when streaming films on line. I am no technology expert but think this is just a really good all round phone for everyday use with good battery life. I am an amateur photographer and the picture quality from the built in camera almost rivals my digital SLR in 48mp mode. Phone is a nice size and the included silicone skin makes it pleasant to hold. Find myself quite often using this for browsing rather than my tablet, Well done Xiaomi.

Wow
I've been using a OnePlus 5 for the past four years and I love it. No complaints at all. Well, nothing major anyway. Four years old and it feels as good as it did in year one. Which I can't say about my previous phone, which I also had for four years, but really shouldn't have. In short then, no complaints with the OP5. Long story short I had a need for a temporary replacement phone quickly and took a chance on this based on some suspiciously good reviews. And I am glad I did. This is a phenomenal phone for the money. In daily use I can't honestly say it performs worse than my cherished OP, which I repeat, is still going strong today despite it's age. In some respects this phone is better. It's got a bigger screen. Smaller bezel. Massive battery. More apps seem to respect dark mode than on the OP5. Some people don't like MIUI, but if you are comfortable searching for settings in slightly different menus then it's no biggie. Saying that I use a different launcher so don't get as exposed to the software as I might. Normally I run as fast as possible from cheap tech as in my experience cheap phones, tablets etc are a massive disappointment. Not this. I may actually continue to use this as my daily device and keep the OP as a backup device, it's that good. I feel sorry for anyone who buys a flagship these days. A grand will get you six of these puppies and I highly doubt a flagship is six times as good.

Switching camera’s can be an issue
Great phone, apart from how the camera’s are switched between. I was frustrated with this issue because it’s possibly firmware related but I found no way to switch between all 3 cameras on the back. Random Advertisement for things is in this phones system settings! So be warned this phone is with ads. Other than the 2 main issues Battery life is amazing (lasted 8 hours of heavy use) screen is amazing but shows the stutters, I did see a few when scrolling through my apps list. great price when it’s at £179.99. I hope they add an option to remove the ads and fix some of the issues above. You will feel the 4gb of ram. You have about 800mb of ram free for apps & games

An absolute bargain.
It's easy to find fault and compare with much more expensive phones. But for the money this is an absolute bargain. Performance is very good. The face recognition works very well and is very fast to open. Dual Sim and both of them can use 5G. Plus a space for a MicroSD (I have a 256GB in mine). Wireless charging would make it perfect but you can't have everything. If you want a good but reasonably priced 5G phone then this is definitely one to consider. I would highly recommend it. My main phone is iPhone 11 but this is very close to making me think about switching to Android.

Great budget phone
This is my third redmi and it's as good as the others and I don't see why anyone would want a more expensive phone it ticks all my boxes 👍My only issues with the phone are I did prefer the headphone jack on the top like the old model but the issue that made me give 4stars instead of 5 is I can't stop the clock popping up on locked screen and it drives me bonkers 🤬 maybe someone could help me with that ??
