Quilling Kit, Flower Sampler

I just began the art of quilling so this kit is terrific to have. It comes with the patterns for all of the flowers shown and the paper strips to do the craft. I have only tried several of the designs so far, but they are easy to do with the clear instructions. Very simple and quick to follow. Great art item!

Easy to follow instructions. Not sure what is meant about sheerness. It's colored paper. So not sheer.

I love the variety of colors in this kit. You can make all the flowers pictured. The instructions included have helped me make a variety of flowers for my greeting cards. However, I wouldn't call this a "kit" because it doesn't have the necessary tools to make the project. It is just the papers and the pattern book. I would call it an expansion pack for the Quilling Creations Beginner Kit because this set just gives you more paper and more instructions to make different flowers.

I was excited when I found this "kit" but was happy that I read the reviews before buying to know I had to buy the tools separately. This should not be called a kit as it does not contain the tools necessary for any projects. It does come with directions on how to make quilling shapes and includes a little bit of paper to get started but it is definitely not a kit. If you know you want to get into quilling either look for an actual kit or be ready to buy the tools separately consisting of: slotted tool, needle tool, circle sizer, glue, tweezers and the circle template board.

I am itching to make a start with this kit. However, I need to practice my technique before I make a start.This kit is targeted at the beginner and it is very inviting. Wonderful range of brightly coloured strips that will make plenty of flowers. All the paper is 3mm wide so ideal for mounting in cards or framing.What it doesn't come with are the tools needed to make the coils that form the basis of your quilled flowers. You will need a quilling tool -(either a slotted tool or a needle tool), glue and a circle sizer or template board. However, the booklet included does give you a good basic grounding in the techniques so with a little initial outlay (and probably one time only as most tools are long lasting) on top of the cost of the kit you are good to go.There are no templates in the instructions. Instead it tells you exactly the length of paper strip to use, describes clearly the techniques needed to mould your shape after coiling and sizing and how many of each shape make each flower. It also gives you an overlay for the pack picture so if you want to replicate their enticing floral rainbow you can. Plenty of paper is included so you can probably get away with a few false starts.The only slight downside is the packaging. It comes in a clip top plastic bag rather than a box so loses a little appeal if bought as a gift. However, the booklet is printed on thick glossy paper and is full of information and inspiration for making your own flowers. The booklet will continue to be really useful even after the last piece of paper has gone.
