My cat has extremely long hair. It didn't work for her

I wasn't sure if this shedding tool would work on my dog, especially when I first saw it. The blades are so close together. I was afraid it would pull my dog's hair, and then he'd fight me the entire time I brushed him. I have a long-haired German shepherd with a very thick undercoat who sheds excessively all year long. Because of his thick, long hair, brushing Jake takes forever, and he gets quite impatient. By the time I finish brushing Jake, I could stuff a pillow with all the hair that gets brushed out of his thick coat, yet the shedding continues. No matter what kind of brush I use, Jake's hair always gets pulled too much. Because of the thick undercoat, Jake's hair knots up easily, and that makes brushing an unpleasant experience. I was ready for a fight when I used the shedding tool for the first time. To my surprise, the tool went through Jake's hair smoothly. It didn't pull or get caught up in his hair, and I was able to get out lots of the loose undercoat. Jake actually relaxed and enjoyed the brushing experience. I would never use the shedding tool through knotted hair, but it's fantastic for removing the loose undercoat. At $7.99, this was an excellent deal. Both Jake and I are very pleased with his new shedding tool.

It does the job and good quality. Just be a little more careful on short hair dogs. My dogs love it, both pit bulls but just make sure you’re not too rough.

I have been using this brush for over a year now on my German shepherd haven’t had any issues with it removes all of his undercoat I highly recommend for a double coated dog

Works great for my cats with short heavy fur but not effective on my rag doll. His fur is to fine to grab in the teeth. Other breeds, best brush/comb tool that I have found.

Our two cats love this, we had just a regular brush for years and had hairball issues with both of them as they are long hair cats. After just a few times using this they already had less trouble with hairballs. We got almost a whole cat worth of hair out of those two. Great purchase.We were a bit concerned that the metal would hurt them as it seemed somewhat sharp, but they seem to love it.

Every bit as good as the original competitor. My cats all tolerate it well, but two of them actually love it and can't wait for their turn to be brushed. This hasn't ever happened with traditional pet brushes. The amount of hair it removes is astounding. Just don't get carried away. I accidentally gave one of them a bald spot!

Our old car brush didn’t seem to be getting my indoor, shorthaired guy’s winter undercoat out. Got this one and didn’t think it would make a big difference but holy fur everywhere! My void cat had a love-hate relationship with the brush, but kept coming back over for more brushes. The brush itself was easy to put together and use. He was rewarded for his mostly good behavior with some catnip!
