Q: How do I clean this please? Is it possible to get the central block out?

Hello, you cannot take out the central block. The upper space of the ant nest can be cleaned. You can use a small brush and shovel to clean the upper space, but the lower space cannot be cleaned. You can dry it in the sun to sterilize it. The occasional sun exposure of the plaster will keep the inside of the nest from getting too wet, which will also prevent mold from developing.

Q: How many ants can fit in it?

We have one colony in the nest, that's all. It's plenty big enough. I'm not sure it's working though. The ants don't seem to come up to the top to get food and water, I'm worried they're going to die. Another design flaw is that you can't access the bottom section to clean it out. Some of the seeds (food) that they have taken down has germinated and are growing roots around the tunnels. I wouldn't recommend it but maybe we're not using it properly.

Hello, if you need to connect this product with other ant nests, it is recommended that you use a transparent soft rubber tube to facilitate your observation of the ants' activities. Just connect the soft tube to the connection expansion port at the lower part of the ant nest.

Hello, this ant nest is a plaster ant nest, and there is no sand in it. It comes with the plaster inside.
