Complete Piano Rags: Edited by David A. Jasen

good arrangements
The arrangements are just fine and I am enjoying playing these pieces very much. Only one criticism, but this is common to all paperbacks: it is difficult to keep pages in place when playing. I find clothes pegs are helpful in anchoring the book at the place where I want it.

Content is great
Contains all the popular ragtime pieces by Scott Joplin. My child had hours of fun playing the pieces. Around grade 6-7 ABRSM standard, for an intermediate pianist. Tunes are relaxing and fun. There are drawing illustrations in the book adjacent to the piecs that helps oreserv the style, feel and culture of the ragtime period. The cover I personally feel is a little dated, and the print and paper quality could have been a bit better.

Fantastic
Can only agree with all of the other reviews. This is a lovely book, thoughtfully put together and set out and, as others have said, including the original cover plates/illustrations for each rag which is a nice touch. The printing is clear and precise which makes the music easy to follow, with suggested fingering for the more complicated (and 'stretchy') passages. The pieces are not easy but they are thoroughly rewarding to learn and play. The ragtime exercises at the start and also the short biography of Joplin are very nice inclusions.I would say that this book is absolutely essential for any pianist interested in Joplin's work, and will undoubtedly provide years of pleasure for anyone who buys it. Can't recommend highly enough.

Fantastic
This is a great rag book for the more accomplished player (I'd say grade 5+). It has lovely prints of the original music pictures in the book too, which make it even nicer. This is a great price for a great book and one I'd highly recommend.
