This is one jolly pot!
This is a beauty! Lighter than my Mum’s old pot but very “handy”. Unlike many I find the kid knob quite comfortable I tried it with my silicone oven mitts. Good grip, no different from what I remember. It’s a jolly looking pot. There are a lot of books and crannies in the pot and lid. At first I thought this was just going to be a pain! Which it might just be! But I realized that the hi a little pot is a “convection pot” all those turns in the pot and the lid keep the hot moist air circulating in the pot. Keeping the heat even over a heavy and packed product cooking. And they keep the pot from blowing its top under the pressure in the steamy inside! So remember to clean these little places after every use so you don’t start growing something in your stored pot! There is a really good recipe in the comments of this product. It will be good for jugged dishes too like rabbit (hare) or osso bucco or the vegetable stews.Going to make some good baked beans now! After a year or so with this pot I’ve found it really reliable! I also never put it in a hot oven but bring it up to temp with the oven.BUT it also has another amazing function… it’s a really good fermentation crock for sauerkraut and other veggies! I just started a batch on Sunday and it smells really clean and delicious. The glazing is solid enough that there will be no odour left when washed out after the cabbage is fermented. The mouth is really comfortable to pack the cabbage or other pickle you are fermenting in a large batch. And it doesn’t leak all over the place if you don’t fill it to the top! This “jug” is really useful. I bet our Irish ancestors used this type of pot to do all sorts of jobs! Happy baking’!

Nice bean pot, but I wish it had a better knob to grab on the lid!
• ►►Pros:◄◄ •Ceramic on this pot seems very high quality and I feel like it has consistent heat distribution, we made some awesome beans in this thing and I'm looking forward to using it again in the future.• ►►Cons:◄◄ •It is virtually impossible to get the lid off of this thing with oven mitts on. We used a combination of jabbing a spoon under the side of the lid to tilt it up and grabbed it with the other hand but it seemed a little risky.• ►► What’s In The Box? ◄◄ •1 Ceramic 4.5 quart bean pot1 Manual with 2 recipes• ►► Hardware Impressions ◄◄ •Quality of the pot seems well made, there's no chips or scratches, nothing to complain about there. I only wish the design of the lid was better so you could open it to check inside while cooking.• ►► Final Thoughts ◄◄ •I looked through all the ceramic bean pot options on Amazon.ca before purchasing this one and was happiest with the price and reviews on this particular product. As I said, I wish it had a better lid design, but I don't think that's a reason not to buy this pot, you should just be aware it is going to be a challenge to open while it's hot. One star removed for lid design but otherwise a very nice bean pot!

Great size, works well, dunno why everyone disses the lid
It's my first bean pot ever, so nothing to compare to so to speak. Works very well. Got the 4.5 qt, which is quite large but baked beans are awesome and have so many uses (makes awesome Quesadilla filling).I honestly don't know what the problem is with the lid. Sure it's a bit more slippery due to the material when you compare it to other pot lids I have when you lift it with a towel when its hot. It works well enough and beats not having a bean pot!

Excellent soup crocks
Neutral colour. Very well made - safe for use in dishwasher, oven and microwave. Handle remains cool. Rough ceramic bottom so won't slide on surfaces Good size for individual chili, French onion soup, and more. Extremely pleased with them.
