Didn't work with iPhone 5s, but otherwise a nice device
Update: support gave me a full refund; I've upgraded the review to five stars to reflect that. They were very nice and helpful and understanding; no complaints there. The unit seems to be fine: it works with an iPhone XR at least, but with my iPhone 5S it did not work, as described below. I hope the ad will be updated to reflect this fact. I'm guessing the 5S just doesn't have the horsepower to do the video encoding in real time. It might work at lower resolution settings; haven't tested that fully. So, in summary:- device works great, and I'd recommend it to people with more recent phones- having control of the exposure setting would be key; e.g. using the 90-degree mirror is almost impossible with the LED because the bright spot of the LED reflecting against the 90-degree attachment makes the camera's auto-exposure adjust all the way down to minimum exposure, which makes the scene you are viewing very dark. If an item comes in to the foreground of the camera and catches the LED light, the same thing happens: the main part of the image goes black as the exposure is dialed all the way down. Manual exposure control is a must-have feature, and would be easy to add in a software update, I think?- the adjustment dial for the LED brightness is too touchy, but that's a relatively minor complaint- I did notice that the displayed aspect ratio of the image (at max resolution) was wrong on the XR, so the image is stretched/squashed. Not sure if the recorded videos have that issue, but I expect they are fine. The aspect ratio seems fine on the 5S.OLD REVIEW FOLLOWS:--------------------------------------I'm rating at 3 stars for now, because I'm talking to customer support. They seem solid so far, and I will update this review as things proceed. My unit seems well built and works fine as a live view camera. The app is nothing special, but it is working to view the live feed. I haven't tried it with multiple devices monitoring the camera. Unfortunately, there are problems with the recorded files. They do not play back correctly in the app: lots of green banding and such.Still photos are transferred to iPhoto correctly. Videos are not transferred at all. At least in the high-res mode. I got one to transfer at 1920x1080, but it had the green banding just like the high-res videos.I may just have a bad unit, and if support does the right thing, I'll update this review with that info and will adjust the star rating accordingly.Lastly: the dial to adjust the LEDs is not calibrated well (or there is poor quality control on the potentiometer): it turns via four or five motions of a finger over the wheel, but the LED goes from full bright to full black in just the first pass over the wheel, making the LED levels almost impossibly close to each other as the wheel rotates. Very delicate to adjust them, and the brightness level easily gets out of whack.I'd also appreciate some control over the exposure of the camera: if a leaf or anything else comes in to the foreground when the LEDs are on, the exposure adjusts downwards and the main image is invisible. I'd rather have the foreground leaf blown out white and still be able to see what I'm looking at. Of course it should be adjustable, because sometimes the leaf _is_ what you are looking at.I understand the desire to make an idiot-proof device, but an "advanced settings" tab for stuff like that would be really appreciated.

Got disconnect from iPhone after few mins
It's ideal to check items in the small space. I like the idea but it didn't work well. I am using iPhone and it got connected in the beginning but after few mins it just got disconnected and hard to get it connect again. It's very annoying and can't really use it for anything. So I just return it and maybe I will get the one with screen attached to it.[Update] I just got the DS300 with LCD Screen. It's much better unit than other one. You don't have to worry about signal got cut off from the phone. You can just use it anywhere, just charge it up and it also included memory card. So you can you record video and capture photos for future reference. It also included some of the accessories to connect on the head. It's worth the money to get this combine unit than without the LCD screen attached to it.

A great endoscope/borescope at this price point.
A week or so ago I purchased a Cheapo Brand X endoscope that operated by directly plugging into a device by USB. It was essentially the cheapest endoscope I could find and I suffered from that. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, one of the LED lights around the lens was DOA so I decided to return it based on that. But I also noticed how bad the video quality was, and the depth of field (range of focus) was atrocious. So I returned it for a refund because of the the defect, and decided to purchase a unit of better quality.Enter the wireless DEPSTECH. Though it was twice the price I paid for the ultra cheap brand, it's still a very low price for what I got. Even though I was upgrading, I was still looking for the cheapest wireless endoscope that I could find, with a 16+ foot line, that also had a better camera than my previous purchase. I don't think you can really beat this endoscope at this price point. I will quickly run through what I like about it, and compare it to the scope I first bought so that I can point out the failures that it doesn't suffer from. The packaging is well done/designed which, though not important, still impressed me for a budget type item. Though the housing for the transmitter is plastic, it doesn't really feel cheap, and the build quality is very nice and solid feeling, especially on the flex line and the camera end itself. Of course all of the LEDs work as well, which I can now appreciate, and at full power they are very bright; brighter than the first unit I bought. There is a bit of lag in the picture, which I expected from something wireless and doesn't really affect the usability. Most importantly, the 5MP image sensor is greatly superior. The image is clear and the range of focus is quite large. Sadly the short video clip I shot doesn't really do justice to what I saw on screen. Going into a pitch black closet, with the LEDs turned all the way up, I could make out everything in there on my phone. The only disappointment in this DEPSTECH is that the camera end is a good three millimeters wider than the first one I purchased, which of course I knew when I bought it, but it is something to keep in mind if you're going to be using it in really tiny openings. One last point is that the first endoscope I purchased had some sort of glare/lens flares on the image, possibly some fault in manufacturing like dust under the glass, but this DEPSTECH is clear and free of glare.I'm a tough grader, and to my way of thinking, a budget unit simply can't get that elusive fifth star, but I don't believe you will find anything better for the price. So far I'm overall happy with this unit. I've already used it to search through my duct work, and I have more jobs planned for it. This is a good quality, useful item, and I believe that you can increase the warranty to two years by registering your product.

Impressed with support
Have purchased WiFi connected endoscope in February 2024, it was working fine. After a few month keeping on shelves I needed again and was not able to connect to WiFi because I bought new phone. I requested help to connect endoscope and support rep offers upgraded replacement which instantly connects without any troubles. Thanks Depsteck for staying behind your product.
