Profile Books Giro d'Italia: The Story of the World's Most Beautiful Bike Race

Great holiday read when in Italy
Bought this to read while on the beach in Sardinia as I'm just getting into cycling. It starts off relatively slowly with the very early history of bike racing unrecognisable compared to today's highly professional setups, so it was initially a bit of a slog but it soon picks up the pace. Particular highlights; the chapter on the rivalry between Coppi and Bartali was fascinating, but the Pantani chapter in particular blew my mind. Highly recommended.
