My mom used to buy this soap and she keep it in the laundry room which was the entrance to our family home. Anytime us kids came in from outside, we had to wash up using this soap. Not sure if it kills germs or cuts down the spread of poison ivy, but it was a staple in our rural home. My brothers and I were talking about it, and I decided to see if it was still made, and once I found it, I ordered 3 bars (one for myself and one for each of my own children). I have it in my own laundry room and wash with it every time I come in from working outdoors.. Good to know some things never change.

I got this soap to melt down and make into a liquid gel soap for my bathrooms soap dispensers. Worked out great and much cheaper than buying liquid castile soap

It's Kirks castille, you either know what they are or you don't. If you've never tried it, you should get this product. It's basically super simple 6$ a bar expensive soap, minus the $6 a bar part. it's low cost, fully natural soap with no funky ingredients. (sad one should have to say that to exemplify, but it's true.)
