One lead fell out, so tried to whittle it down to get a useful point again, but that's all there was. There's only a little piece of lead, so once it's worn or dull, there's nothing you can do but throw it away. They even put a tiny piece of lead in the other end to make it look like it goes all the way through, but it's just for show.

Absolute and complete scam. The graphite extends less than half an inch into the pencil.What's more, this item cannot be returned, and is not covered by Amazon's guarantee. This fact was well hidden, and the ordering experience seemed identical to a regular Amazon order. I was able to get a refund after contacting Amazon, but that should not have been necessary.These are useless as pencils and as gifts. Write a couple sentences, and the pencil is junk. The manufacturer offers a 'warning' that doesn't come close to describing how utterly useless these are. "The length of the graphite varies as well." is their wording. It certainly does vary. Between 1/4 inch, and 1/2 inch. It does not extend into the body of the pencil AT ALL.I've never written an Amazon review this scathing. Don't make the mistake I did: don't buy these.

Upon seeing the "real bark" pencils, my husband loved them. He took them to work (he is a carpenter) and came home the same day and showed me the problem. The problem is that they must only drill about an inch into the stick and insert only that much graphite (pencil lead). After sharpening throughout the day, he has come to a point where there is no more graphite and thus proving our purchase was no more than our hard-earned money for a bundle of worthless sticks. What a horrific company that this is to dupe people into buying sticks when all they wanted was a dang pencil! Don't even think about wasting your money.

I purchased these for my special needs son who has difficulty holding a pencil. They provided the grip and width he needed. Unfortunately the lead does NOT down the whole length of this pencil. It goes in maybe 3/4-1” so you can sharpen it maybe Twice. After that, it’s just wood. They went from pencils to just sharpened sticks very quickly.

I looked in the original description at the top for how you would sharpen them, as they were going to be a gift for kids. Didn't see anything there so I went down to the questions section. There it said you COULD sharpen them with a bigger sharpener, which I have in my class. Nope. Doesn't work. You have to go to the secondary description on the page where it says not only can they not be sharpened in a sharpener, they only have graphite at the tip. Buyer beware.
