Superman: The Man of Steel Volume 2

Fine, but don't start here
Volume Two in this series picks off, as you'd hope and expect, exactly where Volume One stopped, so it continues to print the three late eighties Superman titles (Superman, Adventures of Superman and Action Comics) in sequence. As with volume one, these are fine if essentially conventional superhero comics, and, if you like this sort of thing, or want to find out if you do, they make for very satisfying if undemanding reading while never quite reaching classic status. The creative teams (Byrne, Wolfman, Ordway) are largely consistent with the previous book (though there's a wider range of inkers) and the flow between the three different titles is handled as smoothly. There is a slight feeling of creative energies falling off from the earlier book, but other than that it's pretty much business as usual, and that's absolutely fine. The book's production values are also consistent with the previous volume. The reviewer who criticised the previous volume for not including the Action Comics/Legion of Superheroes crossover story should note that it's included here, in sequence, exactly where it should be. That said, this crossover only exists to make a continuity fix of the sort that comics obsessives demand but which more casual readers are likely to find baffling. You probably could read, understand and enjoy this book without having read volume one, but I can't imagine why anyone would want to do so. So if by any chance you haven't read that one, well, don't bother with this one till you have. But for anyone who enjoyed volume one, with its extremely solid stories told by superior craftsmen, this is more of the same, and you'll probably enjoy it just as much.

Some minor printing errors (shadow effects)
Superman Man Of Steel Volume 2.Really enjoying this book so far (page 129 of 544). Stories continue to be told in sequential order which is great. References / recaps to stories presented in Volume 1 - you don’t have to read volume 1 first, but I’m new to this run and I’m glad I did.Unfortunately there’s been a couple of pages with minor printing errors (see shadow effect in photos) the result is that the text and the artwork is not as clear / sharp as it should be on those pages and it is distracting and disappointing. I’ve encountered 3 pages in the 129 I’ve read so far.No problems with Volume 1 that I can recall.I can overlook these errors because the text is still readable and the book is enjoyable but it is worth mentioning as you do notice it when turning from a clean page to a “shadow” page and it’s not ideal for tired eyes.If this gets an absolute treatment I’ll be upgrading for sure but these little hardcovers are easy to hold and read.

Terrible packaging, damaged product
There is absolutely no point in buying a damaged hardcover graphic novel.

5 estrelas é pouco para o Superman do Byrne, deveriam ser 8.
Byrne continua na criação da melhor versão do Superman já feita.Aqui explicação a questão do Superman nunca ter sido Superboy.
