Pleased with the results
*If* your child is ready for this, this product will likely help your child learn how to use the potty at night, or wait until morning. *If*, however, your child is not ready for whatever reason, it may seem like the product was not helpful. We initially purchased this for our then nine year old, because we had tried everything we could before then. I finally broke down to buy this product to see if it would help. Much to my surprise, my nine year old was completely dry within less than two weeks! She was able to wake herself and make the product work without much help from us. Woot!My younger ones, however, are very hard sleepers and grumpy as ever to wake up at night to go potty. After a month of sleepless nights for dear old Ma and Pa, we decided to stop. During that month, we didn't see any improvement, so we felt it was wise to simply try again later. We did try it about three months later and had the same results. We will definitely try this again soon when our lives are less hectic and maybe that will help. They were all very enthusiastic about not having to wear diapers at night, but unfortunately, the heavy sleeping habits make this very difficult. I don't fault the product for this one bit, because clearly, it worked very well for our older child. Why do I give this four stars? For the price, it is a difficult to get the settings you want for the alarm and even more difficult to turn the thing off in the middle of the night. If this were meant to be an alarm clock for getting up in the morning, it'd be great, because you'd spend a lot of time waking up in order to turn the thing off. :) Disconnecting the cord is suppose to automatically turn it off, but there were several times it kept going despite disconnecting the cord. Sometimes we had to take out the batteries to get it to shut off, but even then, if we didn't have everything just right, putting the batteries back in automatically set the alarm off again. Maybe others had an easier time getting the settings as they wanted them and turning the alarm off, but we found it difficult with ours. Maybe ours was defective, but we purchased two and had the same issues with both. I feel the price is too high for a product with such limited control functions. The gadget is quite loud and the vibration is very strong, but believe it or not, my younger ones just slept right through it. I can hear the alarm in an entirely different room than where they are. With walls in between, no other noise in the house, and being fully awake, I'd say I can hear it faintly at about 30ft max. Yet, it doesn't phase them one bit being less than a foot from their ear. Annoying as ever to those who hear it, which is good, but if you can't hear it when you're asleep, it won't help.In the end, we are still pleased with the product, because the cost of not buying nighttime diapers for even one older child has already paid for the two alarms we purchased. Perhaps I will update when my others are successfully trained (or not). I wish you well in this journey and hope you find what works for your child(ren)! :)

Truly Amazing - it works!
I purchased this for my 7 year old son who had previously had one dry night his entire life. He would wake up soaked each morning in his Pull-ups or Goodnights. We tried everything we could think of, limiting liquids at night, waking him up, the "lifting" method, you name it, we did it. He is a very deep sleeper. We finally decided to purchase this in desperation, as he wanted to have a sleep-over with a friend who was moving out of the country. We decided to start after Christmas Break, as he'd be back on his regular schedule, and on a Friday night. He was very scared/resistant of it when we first showed him, so the first night he didn't actually use it, and there were many tears involved. But the second night he came to us and asked to use it. I firmly believe that he has to WANT to use it, otherwise it won't work. He always woke up to the alarm, but we had to prompt him to get out of bed, go to the bathroom, then help change his clothes and change sheets. We put down a Goodnights Mat over his sheets so that clean-up would be quick in the night, but had him wear underwear, not pull-ups. We kept a change of clothes by his bed, and a sheet of paper by our bed so that we could track what had happened. He had many accidents the first week, but surely and slowly, he improved. I wish I could say it worked easily and quickly, but it took a lot of time. He had his first dry night 12 nights into it. Then four wet nights, then 8 dry nights, then one wet, then 5 dry, then a few wet, then 8 dry, with small accidents mostly, etc. But then we went of out town, and grandparents came to stay. He had three HUGE accidents during that time. However, he got back on track, and we finally made it to 14 consecutive dry nights by beginning of April, so it took 3 solid months to get there. He then had a week of accidents, and then made it four weeks dry by mid-May. He has only had maybe two accidents in the past 2 months. We consider this to be an amazing miracle. I can't say it was easy - many nights he didn't want to wear it, or didn't think it was working, and we had to bolster his confidence. The progress sheets were great, because we could show him how much progress he had made. He was able to go to his sleepover in April and it was a success! I can only say to anyone who is desperate - it actually works. I was very hesitant and worried that we'd worsen his problem, but it is worth a try. We were spending $20 a month on Goodnights, so it paid for itself in 5 months. The hardest part is to be consistent and to make the commitment to get up with your child to help him through it. I even got a bit disappointed myself, hoping it would be a quick process. So it was hard for the whole family! But it is the best investment I've ever made for my child, as corny as that sounds!A few weeks into it, he could wake up, go to the bathroom, disarm it, take off his PJs, go to his room, put on his PJs, and reattach it all by himself. We always got up with him to help and see how big the accident was and assist him, but he wanted to do as much as possible by himself. (note, he is not the most independent child, so this was great that he took charge of the situation). We made it a family effort. We have a 4 year old in a bedroom across from his, and he is a very light sleeper. He did not wake up once, as far as we know, and it did not disrupt his sleep. We did not talk about it outside the house, and we called it his "sensor" instead of "alarm." I am so confident that he will be mostly dry from here on out. Every kid has accidents, so we're not worried about one every once in awhile. This truly is a miracle - try it and keep committed!

Works ok - but puts holes in pajamas
My 6 year old daughter has been using this for over a month. It has not been a magical solution for us like it has been for others. However, there has been improvement. Prior to using the alarm my daughter would wet a couple times a night, and never, ever had a dry night. Since we started the alarm, she will have several dry nights in a row, and then will wet. She still has not gone more than 3 nights in a row dry. However, this is still a big improvement, and will save me a lot of money on underjams. The alarm does not actually wake her up, she is a very, very deep sleeper. On nights that she wets, I try to get her to wake up, but have not been able to. I get her out of bed, change her, change the sheets, and get her back in bed, and she will not fully wake up. So, she has never had a night where she started wetting then stopped herself when the alarm went off, like others have reported, and I don't think that will happen anytime soon, she just sleeps too deeply. However, it must be impacting her subconsciously, because as I said, there has been a big improvement. My big problem with is not the performance, as it does what it is supposed to do, and the fact that it has not worked perfectly for us is just because of my daughters nature, and that is ok, no fault of the product. However, the alarm attaches to the pajama tops with a giant diaper pin! This is not featured in the picture, I expected it to clip on the pajamas. At first I was a bit concerned about the safety, but the locking mechanism seems to work well, as it has never come open accidentally. But, now all of my daughter's pajama tops have holes in them. Not just little pin holes either, some have holes the size of a pea. They are just for sleeping in, but still, they are essentially ruined and will not be able to be donated when she outgrows them, which makes me sad and seems so wasteful to throw out pajamas that will only be worn for one season, and then be outgrown. I wish there was a different way to attach this.

Love this alarm
I bought the alarm at the beginning of April for my 5 1/2 year old. It worked perfectly, and within three months of continuous use (end of June) he was able to sleep through the night without any accidents. At the beginning, my husband and I were waking up 4 times a night to the alarm to make sure that he woke up and to change the sheets. But after the first two weeks it went down to twice a night and only his underwear was wet not the whole bed. It took about 10 weeks to get 0-1 times per night with just a little underwear wetting and the full 12 weeks for him to finally sleep through the night without any accidents. However, we still use the alarm every night since he will still have slight underwear wetting once every 2 weeks or so. Love this alarm. Here are the reasons why:1) It has a clip sensor. You don't want to get the pads or the sensors that you tape to the underwear. The ones you tape on fall off and the pad is too far from the place that gets wet. Plus, if your child sweats the pad will sense the moisture and set off the alarm. For best results, use underwear with a very light weight fabric and clip as close to the area that will get wet as possible (put it inside the underwear tab for boy's briefs).2) The alarm has 8 sounds, vibrates, flashes, and is the most annoying thing possible. It is also incredibly hard to figure out how to turn it off when you have just woken up. You might hate this fact at first, but this is a good thing. It means that your kid cannot just punch a button and go back to sleep. Your kid has to either pull out the sensor from the main alarm, open up the sensor clip, or re-clip the sensor to dry underwear and then push a button on the main alarm. If they make it to a state of wakefulness when they can actually do these things, then chances are they will go to the bathroom and the alarm has served its purpose. For best results do not try to turn off the alarm yourself and take the kid to the bathroom. I know this is annoying, but if you actually make your kid do it, then it will work a lot faster.3) It comes with a chart to track your kid's progress and there are some online motivational videos to watch with your child on the malem website. I did not fully appreciate the psychological war that you have to play with your child to get them to wear the alarm and to believe in themselves. My kid thought that he would never be able to stop wetting the bed and have a sleepover. The chart allows your kid to track their progress so they can see that it is working and keep at it. 12 weeks is a long time to a kid. Unless you are trained in child psychology, you are going to need all of these tools to make sure your kid stays with it.I was nervous when I bought this alarm that it wouldn't work for my kid. But, it definitely worked and was well worth the $100. Over the 5 months that we have used this thing continuously we have had to change the batteries once and the tab on the ethernet connector that plugs the sensor into the main alarm broke. I just replaced this myself and there are some DIY fixes with cable ties that will work as well. Would recommend highly.
