I really like this product, however, I can't use it as I intended. I have a beach (or maybe it's a café) umbrella with a larger 1.5 inch diameter pole. It does not fit into the cylinder of this anchor. Additionally, there are "pimples" and metal shavings inside this cylinder which decrease the space inside ever to slightly. I do like the lip guard for tightening options with the screw so the screw doesn't dig directly into the pole. I do have other beach umbrellas that fit into it. This likely would have worked perfectly for me if the cylinder had a two inch diameter. That definitely would have set it apart from all the other items. I did wait for this to go on sale before buying it and I will be keeping it. I have not actually used it in the sand because beach weather is over for me, but I look forward to using it next season. For the original price, they should have gone the extra mile and made a wider tube. I don't even mind having to find a padded bag to carry that pointy hard metal end safely.I have not been compensated in any way for this review.

The 99 cent store version this lasted............not very long....as is what I expect from 99 cent store stuff. Bought this one, stuck it in the ground, bent the top part of the foot holder pushing it in (Yeah, don't put your foot on the top, put it inside the foot holder) This was revealed through a quick fishbone Root Cause Analysis after a few Lagunita's, everything pointed to me as the root cause, I still believe gravity and the hard ground is to blame. Overall the device held the umbrella well and made the wife very pleased.

Says this in listing: The inside diameter of the opening (where the pole goes) is 1.5".You can adjust tube into different size(0-1.3"). Ummm no! It is indeed 1.3" and DOES NOT fit 1.5" or bigger umbrellas! It says in () different size from 0-1.3" then states 1.5" is opening(where pole goes) NO NO NO! This doesn't fit ant umbrella over size 1.3" as mine is 1.5"! My umbrella is made up of wood on pole so I sanded down the bottom of the wood on pole to fit in a 1.3" hole! Most people would do this which means destroying their umbrella! My umbrella cost is $140 and I was desperate but at same time....this item doesn't fit "at all!" A 1.5" umbrella...PERIOD and SIMPLE!

Genius for a yard. We have a baby and a decent sized yard. Thanks to this, it's easy to provide shade all over the yard. No digging or tearing up the grass. Just step on the little "U" and that's it. Great design. I cannot speak for the beach, as to weather it would work in sand. Maybe if you dug down to the wet stuff?

Haven’t used it in sand but I love that I can now use my beach umbrellas in my yard - makes me feel like I am getting more use out of them.

Great idea for securing your umbrella in dirt or sand. Easy to get into heavy grass by stepping on metal bar. Comes out easy too. Screw tightens so even strong winds won't blow umbrella away.

It is sturdy and well made, and I was hoping to use it to shade my window cooler from short hours of afternoon sun.The area would not do for a canopy The umbrella I planned to use was too big and it wouldn't and fit, so I went to plan B. Will keep the stand for the beach with a smaller umbrella

I will have to return them because they do not fit the post of my umbrella. My umbrella post is 48 mm. I did get a stand that will fit my umbrella post that was sent very quickly from the company and it works wonderful. My umbrella is a 9foot market umbrella and the stand holds if very sturdy. I cant wait to bring this along on picnics with my grandchildren so we can have a nice area of shade. I will be ordering another one!!
